Need help again! Seriously fed up with this decluttering lark! Someone tell me it's ok to throw out good, useful and new things.
I have one of those huge plastic chest type toybox things you get from B&Q/Homebase and the like......it's in the middle of the kitchen floor right now (it's been moved from room to room as I usually avoid it). Anyway it's full of 'useful' things that I have no space for.
I have phone cables, wire shelves, a wine glass hanger thing, lots and lots of paperwork (instruction books and guarantees etc)( and old bits of paper my MUm wrote recipes down on.
The loft was easier than this!
I have no space for the box, I need to empty it. Please someone come to my house and put me out of my misery! :rolleyes:Herman - MP for all!0 -

OK I got my wellies on and my trusty spade to hand see you on Friday for lunch?0

Lol...I was going to cheer there...until I realised Friday was Christmas Day. :rotfl: Nice try but I'm afraid you'll have to cook your own Xmas dinner. Anyway, if I don't get this box cleared out before then, I'll not get near my cooker.Herman - MP for all!0

After all your earlier de-cluttering .... can you not just empty out the box and shove all the contents up in your now clear and pristine loft ???
I find it's quicker and easier if you don't actually look at anything you take out, but just scoop it all into plastic bags and push them through the loft hatch.
(This is why my attempts at decluttering always come to nought......)

You have no idea how close I am to doing that.
I got the box contents reduced and they are now in one of those big blue Ikea bags, the box is in the bin along with the things that were culled.
Maybe I could hide it now and reduce it further next month to an even smaller size bag. :think:Herman - MP for all!0 -
You are heading in the right direction!0

My husband's a hoarder. I'd love to throw things away but he won't let me (he threw away an eight year old cardboard box for a computer he no longer has yesterday and was pleased with himself). If I could throw away someone else's stuff I'd love it!Organised Birthdays and Christmas: Spend So Far: £193.75; Saved from RRP £963.76
