I've just found a box full of duvets and pillows. I think I might have kept them for spares. But I already have spares.......who have their own spares.
They're clean but smell a bit odd with being in the loft for so long.....so peeps, what do I do with them.......bin or charity shop?
How about talking to your local Simon Community or recyling network.
Here is a link http://www.crn.org.uk/ There are peopel who take almost anything. If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -
Not in our area I'm afraid but appreciate the suggestion anyway.Herman - MP for all!0

Your local Womens Refuge may be very, very grateful. Women and children often arrive at a Refuge with nothing but the clothes they stand up in. Good donated household goods help them to build a new and safe life for themselves and their kids......................I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)

And the smaller sizes are cute, as well as providing a challenge for larger hands trying to get more accuracy for the lead guitarist stuff.
The trouble comes when Mum has a bunch of musical instruments, DD1 has some and DD2 is getting even more into music than the previous two;
We currently have;
5 guitars in various sizes and styles
2 keyboards
3 Djembe
2 Tambours
Cow Bells
Maraccas
Castanets
Recorders by the crate
2 Fifes
1 Flute
Snare
2 Hi Hats
1 Bass
1 Music Stand
25 different books
Box full of sheet music
Roisin from double bass lessons
Packets of strings
Lemon Oil
Spare cases
1 B flat trumpet
2 laptops used for music
Various home made percussion
Sleigh Bells
DD2 wants the brackets for hanging her guitars on the wall.
DD1 wants drum lessons, as she had to leave her steel band due to college being 15 miles in the opposite direction.
I want a bass again.
Everyone else is eternally grateful for the soundproofing I put under the flooring in their room.
BIL is musician. He has a room filled with gear too, including his first guitar and his late father's first one too.
See - perfectly normal behaviour!
My younger lad actually wants an electric set now and theyt are both starting on 'building' a mixing desk, I think a stand alone pc will be next for that too........lol beat them to it as I have 1 put away for er er emergencies:oPanda xx

Hi aliasojo, I have just read your thread with a smile, I am exactly the same, I keep everything sentimental, i'm only 27, lord knows where I will keep it all as I get older and collect more!
Anyway my reason for posting was to say that if you are still looking for something to do with your wedding dress and bridesmaid dresses my mother in law volunteers for a charity called Bonnie Babies. They make clothes for prem babies, hospital gowns etc They also make burrial outfits for the babies that don't make it and they use wedding dresses for these. This is the web site http://www.bonniebabies.co.uk/. It was just a thought as I guess not many people would think of this. Good luck with the clear out and I hope your daughter is feeling ok.0 -
deal, I may do a wardrobe too.....M A Y......
so what have you parted company with?
Dump:
(Well) Over 20 boxes (mostly pc/video/stereo/toaster/kettle type)
4 black bags full of polystyrene
3 black bags full of foam chips
Bag of odd wallpaper rolls
Bag of crepe paper which had gone mouldy
Box of odd chipped cups (I have no idea why I kept them)
(Big) Box of old clothes used for diy/painting
Strips of wood
Several kitchen cupboard doors and 2 drawer fronts
Various boxes of old paperwork/pictures (How many pictures of the same 'landscape' does one person need?)
Rickety shelf unit
Old tv table
Old iron with no flex
Broken toys
Charity Place:
Birch shelf unit
Mirror
Sewing machine
Tea set
Adult books (Not that kind of adult )
School sale:
Countless toys...pop up pooh house, play balls from a ball pit, robots, games, jigsaws, kids books etc etc
Household 'bits'....lamps, pictures, picture frames, ornaments etc
Loads of stuff from Boots....anything that ever came from a glitch, lol.
Doesn't sound a lot but in reality it's been many car loads worth.OH has one more day off left so we have to get this finished by tomorrow. I've only got through about half to three quarters of the loft so still a way to go. Even once I've finished getting rid of things I'm still going to have a load left that I'll be keeping...lots of present type things and 'bargains'...so I'm still going to need a shelf unit or two.
It's dawned on me today that I bought a 'Make Your Own 'Opoly' Game'....it's Monopoly but you add your own Street Names etc.......I still haven't found it.
I found my Mother's old fur coat though....it's not real fur, it's a 'Beauty Without Cruelty' coat. I remember being a very bored kid when she was in the shop trying them on, Dad was buying it for her birthday. I kept it because I was going to get a teddy made out of it but I forgot all about it. Think I might look into that again now.Herman - MP for all!0 -

That's really sad (and good at the same time iyswim). My dress has been kicking about the loft for 20 years and still has a small coke stain on it. Would they be interested do you think? Would the material be laundered or would they want the sender to launder it first?Herman - MP for all!0
