Hi, can anyone tell me how this bond pays out? Just read some recent posts saying that maturing bonds have taken 28days via cheque with certain building soc's and don't want to loose 28days interest.
TIA...0 -

same here....will probably lock a good amount into this account as well as Ulster's 3.6% (fixed rate for 6 months) instant access....should anything better come along.b****ger
just done NS&I 3.95 !
I was gutted I had just lost out on that as I was just about to sign up the day it was withdrawn.....but this eases things a bit.0 -

Snapped up here too, one each for us. Inexplicably (because I always fail electronic ID) I actually passed this time -- yay! I put it down to a driving licence number being one of the questions, so there was something extra to verify me against.
So it was quite unexpected when OH then failed!
I hope having got as far as it did, his application has been accepted in principle pending ID, and it's not the case that by the time they get it the bond's closed and they say he's too late. It'll take a few days as we'll have to get things certified.~cottager0 -
Is the Halifax account not down to 2.5% now?0

The NS&I 3.95% lasted 23 days before being withdrawn.
I think this one will go even quicker.
Simple and instant to sign up,just give passport number and they`ll collect cash by DD on the 10th Dec (yesterdays date/ but will move on a day at a time for setting up the DD)
All those who missed the NI&S will still have that cash and this will go like a hot cake.
With the BoE holding at 0.5% for the forseeable and quite a few providers actually cutting 1 year fixes, it`s about as good as it gets. (IMO)0 -

I answered all the questions gave all the information passport number driving licence and for the first time ever failed, yet my other half passed the ID check. Now they want certificated copies of my docs.
I don't think I will bother."The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves, but wiser people so full of doubts."

The OP was worrying over 0.05 loss of % ! Put more than 50 k in the Melton Mowbray and the Grey hairs will be back. They do make nice meat pies though.0 -
Will give this one a miss. Just don't feel comfortable when the deposit is being taken out via direct debit some time in the future and I am not allowed to send a cheque. Its just me and my wee idiosyncrasies0
