    Afternoon all!

Popped out to see a friend who's recovering from an op this morning, then had ex here mending the rabbit hutch for dd3's rabbits, went to see his parents and then back home! Whizzed round tidying and binning stuff and cleaning, very speedy effort today!

Chilli for dinner with pizza for those who moan or want it as well!

Going to sort out some washing and some other house stuff and then will be off to work, sigh! But whoopee, I've got tomorrow night off as a holiday, so I'm finally going to see The Men Who Stared At Goats!

Going to have a quick catch up whilst waiting for kids to get home, have a good evening everyone xx

    Crochet Help.....

I have been learning from this but on this it says US and UK stitches are called different things ?

I would call this a treble or triple, in UK speak. PM me with your exact problem.
My Grandma taught me and she died when I was 8. Shame you missed a Sheffield meet a year or two ago with Pen-Pen and myself sat in the middle of the food hall of Meadowhell crocheting.

Afternoon everyone and many thanks for the many birthday wishes. I'm having a lovely day so far.

OH and I went to a little restaurant in Worcester (Saffron's in Friar St if you are in the area). We'd never been before even after 16 years of living here. It was absolutely lovely -warm and cosy and yummy food. I had crispy duck hash on rocket and coriander salad with spring onion mash followed by orange and ginger cheesecake. OH had Indian butter and honey chicken with rice followed by chocolate sponge pudding and ice cream. We both had half a pint of wine- well 250 ml lol! All for £40 which I though wasn't half bad.

Now everyone is home and ds1 has made us all a cup of tea and we're enjoying a piece of cake.

I've had an Amazon voucher from my lovely belle-mère. I've ordered The Pioneer Woman Cookbook and the Nigel Slater DVD Simple Suppers. I also treated myself to this book which arrived this morning on Haribo's recommendation and I can't wait to get started on some flowers. But first I want to have a go at some crocheted snowflakes so I've bought myself a couple of balls of white yarn too.

There seems to be a crochet craze sweeping the board, are we all happy hookers?

    Hi All,

Sorry not to have posted after promising myself I'd be on the bandwagon keeping myself accountable and all that. But here I am.

Happy Birthday ThriftLady and Mrs E, hope you are having lovely days.

Just got my christmas pudding steaming - 6 hours! with 5.5 to go. The friends we are spending boxing day with wanted a home made one rather than a shop bought one, and even though it is time consuming and I've never done one before, I still think it works out cheaper than the half price ones in Tesco!

I've bought in loads of sweety/crispy type things for Christmas so far, even though I still have no idea how many I am entertaining and for how long. I seem to be at the bottom of the list where my parents are concerned 'we'll see what your brothers and sister are doing, then we'll make a decision about seeing you'. Nice. Sister is working (doc in hosp) and littlest bro will be in Germany then coming to us on the 28th with his girlf, and as for my other brother, he won't decide til the last week before Christmas and my parents will wait until then to let every one else know whats going on.

So anyway. Also managed to get 100 baubles of different sizes in Mr T this morning for £10. Sure they were £20 last week, so I'm happy. Just the tree to get now :) Oh, and any ideas for a blue/silver themed room without a tree???

Should really be doing the ironing and the bathrooms while LO is asleep...

    xx

    Must try harder spank.gif:D:rotfl:

  • Hi Guys!

What an awful day today and I really need a hug:o

New nurse came this morning with a lovely injection. She noticed I had some bed sores and is coming back next week with her boss to assess (sp) me for a pressure sore mattress to put on the sofa. I hate asking for anything and she said that theres lot that they could offer to help me:D I also mentioned whilst she was here that my left boob had been hurting and OH had felt a lump. The aching pain is under my arm too, so she felt and told me to get the GP out. GP came out and he was lovely as always. He waited till OH came back from picking DD up before he examined me and he has also found a lump:eek::eek::eek:....he is calling an emergency breast clinic:confused: for a mammogram in the next 7-10 days. I really DON'T need this ATM:mad:

I am petrified! On top of it all, the family funeral was today and OH's dad was taken into hospital yesterday as OH visited him and he was in so much pain. He has bone cancer and it doesnt look good.

Why is it always us???? What have I done that is so bad that we are being punished?

I havent read all the thread but hope all is well.

WM has been on twice today and dried in the TD. Ordered OH thermals today as he is really feeling the cold this year. House clean and tidy.

    Hugs to everyone else.
