No it wasn't picked up by routine smear. I had my second miscarriage at end of March and the "products of conception" (their words-not mine) they took away during the d&c were sent to pathology. As they took the "poc" out through my cervix they must have collected some cells from my cervix too. This showed up some abnormal cells which, after a biopsy, were confirmed as cervical cancer.
I must say my head is still in a whirl. Its all happened so fast. Its not been 3 weeks yet since my diagnosis but so much has happened. MSE is a great source of support and I praise the day I stumbled across it by accident.
Thanks again everyone, I appreciate all the support and good wishes.

OMG, Shelly, my thoughts are with you at this time. I had to have a small op for abnormal cells last year but it had not progressed to cancer thank God. I wish you all the best and hope you still get the family you want.0

Thanks. Hubby keeps saying how strong and brave I am too. I feel I have no choice but to be strong because there's no way I'm going to let this disease get me down and beat me. I have quite surprised myself though, because if I'd been asked 6 months ago how cancer would have affected me I'd have said it would have done my head right in and I'd never have coped with it. Its amazing though what you can do/feel when you have to. I'm very much a glass half full person rather than half empty. I worry about things as and when I have to because worrying won't make things better.:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -
