The value brands in other packaging is funny - shows how much depends on our perception of things!

Im in off night shift, so just spend some time reading post and chatting, then bed, then pop to shops, then back to work tonight. i work permanant nights 4 on and 4 off. Its this that causes me problems. Sooooo much free time on my hands. i am looking at ways to fill in my time, rather than going out shopping because i am bored. Not having the same days off every week, i roll back a day every week, makes it hard to do any volantary work as they usual what people on the same day every week.
I do mon tue wed thur, next week tue wed thur fri, next wed thur fri sat and it goes on like that. Hard to get a partime job too for the same reason.
xThankyou to all who have the good heart to help me.

What about doing something like an OU course, if there's something you're interested in? Depending on your income you can get your fees paid for a lot of them. Would keep you busy!Debt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0

 left shool without a qualification to my name. i am not thick but im not brainy either !!! I have gained qualifications at work over a period of 8 yrs and have never struggled with them and on a couple of occasions, I have ran the the special needs unit i work in for a week. i have no idea what I would want to take a course in but its food for thought.
Thankyou for that squirrel xThankyou to all who have the good heart to help me.

Its times like this that you realize your parents were right. I was a right tearaway at school, just wanted to leave work in a factory and get some money. What a waste

Not a waste, if no-one did the jobs that don't need qualifications the country would grind to a halt pretty damn quick! And despite the hype, carrying on in education isn't for everyone - not because they're not brainy enough, but because of other reasons. Qualifications gained while you're working, along with experience, are at least as important as a degree - as many graduates are finding when they realise they were lied to at school and now can't get jobs.
Sorry to rant, but I got ME at school because I believed all the crap about having to push yourself and get a degree and a 'good' job. Now I look at the girl who got pregnant at school and who's a lot happier, more settled and 'sorted' than I am! (And despite the hype, I'm the one on benefits in a council house not her - and I was tipped for Oxbridge!). Ooops, ranting again.
Anyway, I agree about the OU, it's really flexible and they're soooo supportive. It's designed for people without qualifications, the level 1 courses start out really basic and build up. It teaches you how to study, as well as whatever subject you do. My problem is there's so much I want to do! And if you can get your fees paid then there's nothing to lose, is there?Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.0
