God, Bloojeans, you're going to running courses to sort the rest of us out soon! You're really going for it. Fantastic!!

Thanks Foxgloves, but i have to put it into practice yet. 7 days to payday and I feel strong to do as i have panned. time will tell.

Today I am going to do a spreadsheet using excel on my computer and I have found a fab little program called "Personal Finances" you can track every penny you spend it very easy to use and you can put in all your own catogorys, it fab AND FREE to download. If any one wants to try it, type in personal finances and its logo is a brown wallet.

Well i have put off borrowing any money but i am now pennyles, so mam coming to the rescue today. Now I would usualy ask to borrow £100 even though that would be over what i need and have a bit of a splurge, then pay back mam when i get paid. but this time of borrowing (and the last time, i hope) i will work out just what i need to get me to next friday.

That's a good idea. I identified with you saying you'd normally borrow more than you need and then have a spluge. I don't know how much my partner & I must have added to our debts over the years by doing exactly that....we'd decide to consolidate some smaller debts into a bigger loan and invariably have an extra few hundred quid to buy something we'd been wanting or just 'to be on the safe side'. You know, I can look back at our behaviour and spending habits now & see EXACTLY how things got like they did (partner is also reformed spender)....I wonder why I didn't see it then? Well, I probably did, really, but just didn't want to think about it. Like you say, you've got to put it all into practice, but it's amazing that you're feeling so strong about it even at this time of year. I still get tempted by stuff.....who doesn't, & I do have occasional treats, but I really believe now that no amount of unplanned spending makes me feel as good as being in control and I feel much more appreciative of what I've got.....a lovely man, family, home & garden & this is much more important than having another shade of lipstick to go with the 9 already in the drawer or 3 new tops I don't even feel good in but just felt like a treat....I know everyone on here will be reading your posts & really wishing you all the best with it.

Foxgoves I have no duobt i will be tempted my stuff and will give into it from time to time, I would hate to think every penny was controled for the rest of my life. I am a life time money waster and things are not goingto changer overnight, but as long as I am doing my very best and my bills are paid, thats a start. Then its work on the savings and the weight.

thankyou for all your support :A

hiya Lamarsi, i had the chance to do nursing 10 yr ago but i have family commitments and my debt that prevent me from doing the training. I love the job i do now and i am settled in my work. Its was a suggestion from a fellow MSE to do some course work as I lots of spare time. So i have decided to advance in the career i am in. Although my job is pretty secure, none of us can be sure of that, so extra qualifictions never come amiss.

    Thankyou for popping in

Now i am paranoid about doing too long of a post in case i get timed out. I did a long post yesterday on some background stuff and lost it.

Today i am taking my brother whom has Special Needs into town to get my Mams christmas present from him. So big test for me, with money in my purse.

£100 - £20 for DH and £10 for petrol, leaves me with £70 I do ned to buy food but now that I am learning to eat for less thats way too much for food. So i am not going to take all of it with me. A first for me :T.
Now do I take the bus or car. DH and DB bus free. I can get an all day ticket for £3.80. Parking is 80p or £1.10p per hour so i will have to work that one out depends how long we going to be in town. Usualy i would not have given this a second thought and gone straight to the £1.10p car park as its right in the middle of town.

    Catcha's later :A

Hi Bloo, just been reading through your thread, you are doing so well, and your attitude has changed so much from your first post to your last.

You may find my take on it a little strange, but its just from personal experience, you may well be addicted, but not necessarily to spending, it maybe to the relief of getting yourself out of the poo yet again.

Everytime you are in trouble over unpaid bills, it worries you, you may feel sick, have a knot in your tummy, a burning feeling in your eyes, a feeling of this time I've had it. Then you get out of it somehow the bill is paid end of problem, a feeling of relief, wow it feels good, so you unconciously repeat the process.

Once you break the cycle, life will be sweet, control is a wonderful thing.
    Best of luck.
