Doh - I did a daft thing and posted this on the end of Saturdays daily - sorry! (that'll teach me to leave my browser windows open :) )

Morning all, Well, I filled in all the dates on my calender for december and I have a total of four days free from now until Christmas :eek: I have four Christmas parties, a week in Germany, three seminars, two visitors and a [STRIKE]partridge in a pear tree [/STRIKE]a collaborator coming to work with me for a few days. All go here :)

I sold another five items on folksy last night. I spent most of yesterday making tiny waffles out of clay :) I now hate clay and tiny waffles :rotfl::rotfl:I have google analytics installed, so like I'm going to get any work done now :)

I have a birthday cake to make for saturday and a costume to prepare. We have to go as something starting with the letter "D" - I have decided on Dorothy from the wizard of oz. I have red shoes, all I need now is a dress, a basket and a fluffy dog. Oh joy. OH has no idea - but if he doesn't hurry up and think of something, I will just put him in tight trousers, draw a red/blue flash across his face and send him as David Bowie (he is - according to my aunt - a dead ringer for the lead singer of Aha though, especially when his hair needs cutting)

OH came in yesterday with more mushrooms - lots of wood and field blewitts, veridgris agarics and some false chanterelles. Dinner was beef stew done in the slow cooker with many different sorts of mushrooms, dumplings and boiled pots. There is loads, so we will be eating it for a while :) He also trailed mud all round the flat - so I spent my evening shampooing the stair carpet - we have a flat inspection tomorrow. Fun.

I made cake chocolate cake last night for work, but I can't post a pic as my laptop cable is AWOL. It is covered in chocolate as I got a box of quality street as a thank you for proofreading a thesis. A good friend of mine has her viva tomorrow - so I will take her some in a bit to cheer her up :)

Have a good day all, cel x

  • Morning everyone.

Been to the supermarket and I now feel exhausted. Can I go lie down whilst someone feeds me grapes?! DD was a pain at first and wouldn't sit in the trolley  She's no lightweight so trying to man handle her with a bad back and no energy was a wee bit difficult. DS whinged all the way round too - he looks peaky again and kept telling me he was tired.
Anyway picked up a lovely big gammon joint from Mr S which will do a fair few meals (the price per KG is half price :T).
As for OS - I shall do a bit, rest a bit, do a bit, rest a bit. House is a complete tip as I've done no real housework since Friday. I really need to try and tackle the mountain of ironing we have - shall try and have a go when DD is asleep this afternoon and DS is at nursery.

Right DS is begging for a hot chocolate so I will go and sort that out for him.

Squiggly - Happy Birthday - hope you have a lovely day.

Diva - My H has a Blackberry for work. I loathe it. He is always on it, either on Facebook, work emails etc. Its the first thing he does in the morning and the last thing he does at night

Stressedoutmum - hope your poor tonsils are better soon xx

lowesly - I did ballet from the age of 4 to 13. I even have my blocks (hard ballet shoes) knocking about somewhere. Can you remember all the positions (first, second, third, fourth and fifth?!) I love dancing - just a shame I am not really built to be one :rotfl:

celyn - oooooh lets have some pics of your OH - Morten Harket is lush :D

Hugs to those that need them. Have a good day OS or not.
I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knife :D Louise Brooks
All will be well in the end. If it's not well, it's not the end.

Afternoon now! I went to the Physio-Terrorist and he has decided that it's worth giving acupuncture a try for the tennis elbow. As I have had acupuncture in the past he said he would start straightaway if I was happy with it. Have another session next two Mondays and then review.

I didn't feel the first three needles go in, but the 4th between thumb and first finger made me yelp! That one is a bit sore now, but not had any pain from the elbow as yet. It comes and goes, so will be interesting to see if that varies.

Then Lidl, as dh asked if I was going to get sweets to fix up ds's advent calendar. £44 later (not all on sweets I add!) I came home. I got a goose for the freezer, that can come off next years food budget, unless I decide to do it on New Year's Eve, I usually get one when they come in. Also there were sewing, knitting, haberdashery items, so got a few of those, and some household stuff.

    Onward

just thought i would say hello, i've not read the daily in a long time!
    Happy birthday Squiddly!

Today i had Hm bread for brekkie, couscous for lunch and dinner I'm not sure about yet. There is bean stew in the fridge or i might have eggs and toast? Depends how I feel when i get home.

my mind is in turmoil today. I have a job interview tomorrow, so going to the shops after work to get something respectable. i dress very casual so literally starting from scratch here. There goes lots of christmas present money. This will be my first interview in 9 years:eek:

Im terribly nervous so if anyone has any words of encouragement or advice, that would be great. I don't know anything about the job or the company so will literally be walking in blind.

Debating making peanut butter cookies for little christmas gifts for Mum, her partner and my brother. Never made them before, but my brother watched them on a cooking programme and thought they would be nice. I thought about making different ones to each persons taste, but who has time?!

Sorry, not much of note to say, just needed to say out loud I have a job interview. I was going to start a thread asking for tips and advice, but i dunno how much help it would be.

    Hugs to all.

  • Good afternoon everyone  I've been out with friends this morning, so lots of jobs this afternoon. I'm making a spinach, squash and ricotta pasta for tea, and a big batch of bolognaise for tomorrow (and the freezer ;) ).

Be yourself! smile, act confidently even if you are quaking in your boots. ALso if you could find something out in advance about the company or the job I'm sure that would stand you in good stead.
