    Happy Birthday Squiggly

Well car has now gone , i ran out of my tablets on friday so have gone all weekend without hairpull.gifrant.gif, MIL is collecting them for my today whew.gif.

Took Kids to toddlers today, shows you how long ago i went, some have been pregnant and had babies . Anyway it was spike's 1st trip and he loved it especially as he is the right height to be able to chew on the tables :o:D.

Kitchen S & S'd, 3 loads done and on line, hoovered hall/FR. Bathroom done before we left, Bread made, Curry in oven and reeelax pass us a grape bitsy ;).

My throat feel likes someone chucked aload of razorblades down it in the night. You know when it really hurts to swallow (no mucky comments :D). My ears hurt too when i swallow .

Off to get another hot blackcurrant and honey

    Happy Birthday Sqiddley.

Good luck with the interview tomorrow Zippy.

I spent just short of £50 at the cash and carry , but spent a pleasant hour browsing and got loads of stuff for my money. Yankee candles were very cheap, got a small one as part of friends Christmas present. Finished off the kids stockings, and got 2 massive bags of marshmallows, as they both put them on their Christmas lists. Also got the cats a funky feeding set!

Then went to Morrisons, spent my £40 to get a receipt towards the Christmas £25 off deal, used some coupons for things I'd bought so only actually cost me £32. :T

Have hidden the Christmas bits before the kids come home from school!

Good luck Zippychick - have a google and see what you can find out about the company, always good to have a bit of background knowledge! Will keep everything crossed for you - let us know how you get on x

Dinner has now been sorted out here - will be kievs with chips and leeks and carrots, kids have been requesting kievs for a while, and whilst these aren't hm ones, they'll do! Still not feeling great, damned bug really sunk its claws into me, so finding kievs on offer in Asda at 50p a pack of two was serendipitous!

Don't think I found many other great bargains, just got normal stuff like flour really - heinz beans are 3 for £1 though (or two four-packs for £4 lol!) for those who like them.

Got paint so that dd2 can finish off the volcano, and some more paper so dd3 can sort out the homework for her toys - schools is still her latest obsession! Bizarre, cos the last thing I want to do is dream about work when I'm not there!

OS stuff has been limited, got some olives marinading, and minced some lamb that was in the fridge, still need to put shopping away, but needed a cuppa first, and it won't come to much harm in the boot given how perishing it is here!

Have a good afternoon and evening all, I shall be at work :-s x

Hi everyone, I didn't want to start a new thread for my question - can anyone tell me what the names (or link me to them on ebay :) ) is of the cone shaped bags people use for packing hot chocolate / baking mix in as gifts?

Can't remember for the life of me where on the forums ive seen them being talked about :o
  • Are these the ones Stardust? For making snowman soup?
Squares knitted for my throw ~ 90 (yes!!! I have finally finished it :rotfl: )
Squares made for my patchwork quilt ~ 80 (only the "actual" quilting to do now :rotfl:)

    Spot on  Thanks
  • Afternoon everyone:wave:

I've had a fairly busy day. I've done the food shopping, almost finished the Christmas shopping, made a chocolate and hazelnut cake for a birthday, made flapjacks for school and prepared tea ready to fling together before I go to my French class.

Tea will be smoked mackerel, leek and cheese toasts (mashed mackerel, cheese, cream and cooked leeks spread on toast and grilled) served with a winter salad of chicory, red cabbage, oranges, red onion and walnuts.

Lunchboxes had square white bread sandwiches (loving my Pullman tin!) with cheese in them, apples and chocolate muffins.
I had super yummy leftover chicken and barley soup.

    Breakfast was porridge and sultanas.

I've been having fun crocheting over the weekend. I've made a jacket for a plant pot and some granny squares. I want to make a garland of stars now I've seen Lucy's.I think they'll look great over my fireless fireplace.

Just wanted to say thanks for all the kind wishes so far. Off after work to try get something half respectable to wear.

Pen - I had a look at that thread, thanks !

I just really hope I don't go to pieces. Have looked up the company and have an idea what they do now. Sometimes when stressed I burst into tears, so I really need to have a word with myself and toughen up.

I'll not respond to every post as I don't want to hijack the thread, but I will check in and read. I just needed you lovely OSers support today :o

Thriftlady - is crocheting hard? I've always wanted to try it and those blankets look fab! I can knit the basics, and can finger knit, can sew a bit only self taught mainly and am crafty .

Thanks again for the support. I'll have to get back into the habit of reading here every day again

:hello: Good afternoon! I haven't posted for a few days as had a headache which turned into a migraine - I wasn't impressed as i hadn't had migraine for ages  Nearly gone now though, just the odd twinge.

tired mum - So sorry to hear about old doggie x

redruby - any more news re the house move? (Although I haven't posted, I did manage to read, and though not much sank in, that did!)

Zippychick - Good luck, hope it goes really well :)

:bdaycake:Happy Birthday Squiggly - Would be lovely to see you posting again!

((((HUGS)))) P_P, elona and everyone else who's ill or upset or struggling xxxx

I know I've missed a couple of peoples' birthdays since i last posted - so sorry I can't remember whose, brain has been even more full of cotton wool than usual  but I hope you had a good day!

Not much OS been going on here for obvious reasons - hoovering needs doing badly - no, let me rephrase that - hoovering badly needs doing :D but will worry about it tomorrow when the twinges should be gone. I was so glad there were HM "ready meals" in the freezer while I haven't felt up to cooking, especially as DH's pensions don't go into the bank until tomorrow. At the mo I'm catching up on my washing.

Sorry this isn't a very interesting post :o - perhaps I'll do better tomorrow :D
