I've done really well considering I'm in pain:D

We can't have a christmas tree because of my kittens (2 6 year old boys... but still my babies:o:rotfl:) They're little buggers. For example today they both took a liking to one of DH's newish surround sound speakers... claws were out ready for a bit of scratching!

holly I had a brightly coloured lolly a couple of years ago... and ended up in hospital:eek: Those colourings are naughty. My DS used to sleepwalk when he ate the old style blue smarties:rotfl:

Hope you get everything sorted rach. I was the one in our relationship umming and arring about whether I wanted children and DS was the one who said as soon as we met that he would want a child. I also had to take my health into account as well. I'm happy to say we're TTC now;) (I do have a 13 year old DS but it feels like I'm starting all over again as I was very young when I had him)

Ooo short post turned into a long one:o:rotfl:

Hugs to all that need them:A

I'll wipe the sofa's down when the dog wakes up and moves herself, atm she's sprawled right across the 3 seater!

Half an hour of peace? hmm, well i've had the dog out twice today and as it's the only time i've had to myself all day - can i count that?

All Xmas presents are bought and wrapped except my parents - want to get dad something 'different' but am really stumped atm, going to get mum a dsi but all the prices seem pretty standard so will hold off and see if an amazing deal pops up

Hope everyone is well, lots of love, hugs, congrats, happy birthdays and commiserations where needed. I have no chance of keeping up with you all so have avoided posting at all as i feel terrible posting and running but i need the lists to keep us focused! :o

Big hugs to Toots and Lady_L - even when not about you are both very much in my thoughts! xx

I struggle a bit with housework as DH is badly disabled and sleeps a couple of hours at a time so I hate to disturb him. Washing is done during the night as we are on economy 7 but drying it takes the time and annoys the heck out of me!! everything else happens when I have the energy basically or when Im cold and need to do something to warm up lol. Been working my way through the living room today so I can put the decorations up soon, but it turned into a bigger job than I thought. The one thing that really annoys me is the kitchen floor as we are in and out of the backgarden seeing to our rescued guinea pigs and rabbits the floor gets a mess and I can only mop it when DH isnt around cos he may slip so i end up doing it at midnight, i just wish I had a magic floor or a house elf.

Annie, I would suggest you just priorotise your housework and do what you can when you can,I think little and often may be best so you don't wear yourself out hunny

  • holly its easy seen i dont have children - when you posted ealier about the after effects of the blue lolly I was imagiming blue poo!!! I realise now it was the effects of the colour additives you meant - DOH!!!!!! hope it gets out of his system soon!!
    :rotfl:I did too! :o

Hugs Lil_me hope DH gets in a better mood soon

Lady Liberty, are you back from Brighton yet? Have a nice time?

    Mumto5 how exciting, NYC!

Twoflower hope your DH and DS are better soon

Tag, wow that‘s a long time off, great! Those are sad cat stories, hugs

Rach, we have lots of pics of Dad carrying me or my sister up mountains in the Lake District. We were in a baby carrier on his back and look very sweet! Mum and Dad loved walking and having two babies didn’t stop them. I’m sorry not to be much help, it must be so frustrating for you both. I think a lot of men have doubts about their abilities as a father and I’m sure that if it came to it he would really be great, but it’s just getting to that point. It might just be cold feet. I like AnW’s point, that the very fact he is worrying about being a good dad shows he will do his best to be a good dad

Signs of recovery, well done on your first day!

Smartie, well done, hope your pain goes soon

My beloved has washed up and cooked coq au vin and roasted a chicken at the same time! He was also very sweet when I was watering my face earlier and gave me a hug and told me that everything will be ok. I've been pretty useless today! But I have tidied up the sofa and started tidying my floordrobe which really needs it. I was halfway through emptying the shredder when dinner was ready, so I need to finish that and then I can do more shredding. And floordrobe tidying! I need to put my pillows in front of the heater too as they are really damp, they rest against the outside wall  Oh and I've listed the flower on my avvie on ebay, it's my favourite one so far! I'm having the greatest fun making them, even if no one buys any!

    Hi all

Thanks for all the hugs, wise words and thoughts. I can't remember exactly who said what but you all talk a lot of sense. I don't want to go into too much detail here as it's public and you never know who is on (DH would hate to think I was talking about it all publicly, he asked me not to discuss it with my friend this morning, though I did in very general terms).

The bottom line is, we had always planned to have kids at some point and when we found out about my pcos we were both shocked by how strongly we felt that we definitely wanted them. DH can be quite an inconsistent person (I'm not at all, once I've made my mind up, which often takes me a long time, I stick to it), and he is also very up and down emotionally. So it's not the first time he's blurted out that he's not sure, but it's the strongest he's spoken about it. I feel like I don't know where I am with it all. Think we're going to eat out tonight and try and talk about it all. His main worries are a) that he won't be able to do all the walking that he loves and b) that he won't be a good enough dad. My feeling is that it's his own insecurities about not being good enough/tolerant enough/able to love kids that is at the root of it all.

So thanks for all your help, we will keep talking and I hope he will change his mind again, it's just that the not knowing is so difficult.

I spent most of today out, enjoyed coffee with my friend and I don't think I looked too much as if i'd spent hours in tears! I did a bit of shopping, bought myself some boots and a nice new top and a couple of Christmas bits. And I've had my blood tests, yes kazm for coeliac.

I'm now just very tired, but I don't really feel like sleeping, so I'm under a blanket on the sofa. I guess DH'll be home in about an hour, at which time we'll decide where to eat. don't think I can face noisy pizza express though.

I have said this before to carlsberggal and i will say it again. In my opinion it takes 10 months to get babies so we have tme to accept and adapt the situation.
You DH is bound to feel overwhelmed by whiny kids he is just not used to them.
If you love each other then everything will work out. PCOS is a terrible thing to have. It took me 11 years to get pregnant and this puts a massive stain on your relationship. Each time your friends and family have babies you watch and wonder when it will be your turn.
As for not being able to go on walks thats rubbish fresh air is great for babies and as long as they are warm and fed and watered they won't care where they are.

I hope you manage to come to some sort of a compromise if you need to talk you know where we are xxx

    Evening everyone.

Meeting was good today, he's now discharged. There going to see about a carer's assessment for me but to be honest if things are going well i don't really need any help.

    *RANT*
We had a lovely phone call from the CSA and basically hubby needs to have a DNA test which is no problem except WE have to pay for it.
They gave me a number to ring to find out the cost and it's £458.58. So someone from the CSA is to phone me tomorrow morning as no one could answer any of my questions. Plus i've booked an appointment with the MP for friday, i just can't believe what a mess it is.:(

So not much else done today and i think i'll head to bed soon.
Sometimes it seems that the going is just too rough.
And things go wrong no matter what I do.
Now and then it seems that life is just too much.
But you've got the love I need to see me through.

  • Vanilla - I have no constructive advice but I can totally understand your rant! Surely it's her job to prove he IS rather than his to prove he isnt? Especially seeing as it's not the first time. I'm grrrring on your behalf.

Rach, Jinky, Toots, LL, Rose and everyone I've forgotten, and everyone in general, lots of hugs!

I had a bit of a moment earlier. I turned on the heater in my flat for the first time (it's a really warm flat so haven't needed it so far) and it made a strange noise and then smelt of burning. Before I really thought I tried to ring Dad to ask what to do. Thankfully he doesn't have a recorded voicemail message, it's just generic lady. But I still cried for a while. Didn't tell mum about it, she's got her own problems without worrying about me burning down my flat. Which I didn't, I think it was just dust or something.

    Have managed to:
    Do washing up
Have a long chat with mum about the mart
Finish presentation (just needs printing then photocopying in the morning)
Take out bin, clean bin out and put new bag in
