Right, tea is in the oven be ready in 20 mins or so, so that should take care of the cries coming from Miss Tag which are along the lines of - 'I'm starving and quite frankly will die if I don't have tea NOW!!!'

Green with envy - I want torties (I've a;lways had tabbies - accidentally but hey ho) but our 11 yo gorl is fine and healthy so it may be some time...and she has a personality too (a stupid name for a girly cat but a personality nevertheless)

Ooooo I know. I think I'm more excited than DD.:D:j
I've had ginger tabbies. Don't know if you remember I told you that my Trev puss drowned in my old next door neighbours swimming pool last year.
A normal tabby, who believe it or not that was called Penfold. He was my baby cat. Loved him to bits and then one day he just disappeared. Never ever found out what happened to him :sad: Which was horrible cos I spent weeks looking for him.
Anorak was sweet. All black. She got run over, many years ago now.
Mouse and Harry still live with my first ex husband.

I'll definitely post some piccies of them when we get them. ;)

I'm interested to see what Sweepy dog makes of them. She won't know what's hit her when they arrive!!:rotfl: I'm sure she'll be fine though. She plays with the rabbit in the garden and hasn't 'eaten' it yet! Think I'd better fix the Xmas tree to the wall as well!! :rotfl:

I'm currently 'learning' how to be disabled and I am doing so by working out what's truly important to me and mine. For example, home cooking and clear worktops in the kitchen are really important to me so these get a priority. Bits of fluff and dust on the stairs carpet, piles of clean clothes on the dining room table are not, in the grand scheme of things, important, so they can stay there! I also weigh the physical 'cost' of the job against the satisfaction of getting it completed. It might be helpful to make a list of what you consider your jobs to be, and have a really good look at it and see if some are just habit, or preference rather than truly affecting your quality of life if they're not done.
:T:T:T:T:T:T I could not have said that better.
It is about priorities and that becomes more important if you are ill.

His main worries are a) that he won't be able to do all the walking that he loves and b) that he won't be a good enough dad. My feeling is that it's his own insecurities about not being good enough/tolerant enough/able to love kids that is at the root of it all.

He will be able to do all the walking he loves, he will have a lil one strapped to his back until they are old enough to walk ;) He will be a good enough Dad, worrying now demonstrates that he would be prepared to do his best IMHO.

You can let kids change your life so that you are tied to routine or you can fit them in with your agenda (well until the routine of school starts anyway). DH worked shifts which always meant there could be no Mon-Fri routine which allowed us to organise our lives as we wanted and do the things we wanted to do as a family.

  • Well, my livingroom, hall and stairs look sooooooo much better than this morning before I started.
I never would have whipped up the motivation to just carry on and do it without knowing that all over the country, there was a whole fly-lady thread doing the same thing!
It also helped looking at other people's extra to-do lists, as it reminded me of things I need to do as well.
So thank you for a super first day. Really really appreciate it.
