Oi you, you have only been here 5 mins and you are getting people to cut corners already:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::rotfl:

ETA: I am in again, as ever:D:A

    As if Jinky !!!:p

Sometimes you need to cut the corners, so that all the pegs - rainbow or otherwise - fit into the circle of life :A:rotfl::rotfl:

    Anyway...
I have just shredded some paperwork, from June :o:eek: that needed doing.
And now, I am off for a cheeky wee HHI
  • Glad the bedroom is progressing so well :T
RE the new carpet - Have you had to arrange uplift of old one? Are you going to be stuck with disposing of offcuts?
thanks Aunty. the old one came from freecycle - do you all remember me fitting it - changed days or what? - anyway the painter cut it into strips and dumped it outside - have put one strip in the bin this week but will speak to my DB to see if he wants it for weed control in his huge veg patch - if not it will be binned gradually.

my day hasnt quite gone to plan so i havent managed to do everything I wanted to but hey ho nothing new there!
My friend (the painter's wife) came in at lunchtime and we discussed what was needing to do and she is going to be helping me when she can over the next 2 weeks - she is dying to re-arrange stuff for me.

  • kazw well done to you and fat cat!!!
signs of recovery well done - it is a huge help having others working' alongside' you - daft isnt it!!! the trick is now sticking to it every week - dont disappear on us will you!!!
TAG ooooooh piccies please - what are they going to be called or is it too early to decide?
Rach I should have remembered that - thank you AnW'sMum - my DB and SiL were big hill walkers before the family and when they were LO's they used to take them on back packs - now the whole family loves being out walks, camping, and anything outdoor. I think all fathers if they are being honest worry about being good dads - I am sure he will be wonderful - and your children will behave the way you bring them up!!! not like the whining ones you saw yesterday tell him!!
holly its easy seen i dont have children - when you posted ealier about the after effects of the blue lolly I was imagiming blue poo!!! I realise now it was the effects of the colour additives you meant - DOH!!!!!! hope it gets out of his system soon!!

off for my tea - back later when I will do something from my list
    toots xx

  • Hi all

Dinner made for weans and OH I feel rotten so I'm just going to have a tin of grannies soup and see if I feel any better later.

Got a bargain out of the school today paint your own piggy banks for £1.50 so I bought all the kids them instead of selection boxes.

DS1 went to Tesco with OH and came back with 2 DVDs that were £5 each for DS2 and DD to put away for Christmas. He said he used his pocket money. I'm standing thinking what a kind thing to do when he pipes up you can give me the tenner when you get paid.

His main worries are a) that he won't be able to do all the walking that he loves and b) that he won't be a good enough dad. My feeling is that it's his own insecurities about not being good enough/tolerant enough/able to love kids that is at the root of it all.

We used to go walking constantly when I was young.. with my 2 sisters in tow.. miles and miles and miles.. stone circles, white horses, ancient walls, ruined castles.. you name it we've seen it! Backpacks, slings and all terrain buggies... fabulous things!!

Him worrying about not being 'good enough' is perfectly natural.. how good do you have to be? He can give and receive love, he can pick up someone who has fallen and give them a hug, he can give someone security and stability... what more does a child need? Oh.. he may be needing to be a bit 'cool' too... slippers and smoking jackets are not the way to go.

We all learn the hard way.. it is called 'chucked in at the deepend' followed by... 'OMG which way up does this go?' and 'Which end will 'leak' first?'

He will be a fabulous dad.. because he already cares about how good he'll be!! In his heart he already is.. if he didn't really want them he wouldn't have thought about it.
TAG - kittens and Christmas trees are an interesting mix - I know we got Woody just before Christmas last year

I had Hazel and Peaches last year.. this year I have Penny and Polly... OH and I were eating dinner last nigth laughing at Peaches leaping all over after baubles and killing the tree and Penny sat watching her like she was insane lol.
