Triker lease cars can be cost effective, depending how unlucky you are with cars. If you are careful with the length of lease you can get ones you can escape from. It also depends how much you can get for your old car, might not cost a lot for a newer one. In my head I would go for option C, as at least then what I have coughed up is mine, get breakdown cover & realise that even new cars break down (most call outs are cars under 5 years old) If the lease is 3 years with no break away options I wouldn't want it either
toots ((hugs)) families can be bleurgh can't they. Unfortunately we have to like your Mum as without her we wouldn't have you x
juliejim as long as it comes off the floor again I say well done for even tackling it!
sexymouse you know we are all behind you, everything crossed here
ajmoney, you sometimes get better offers and they are usually god from Asda & Tesco here with F&V
Hex :rotfl: brilliant with Santa & the Magic Helpers
Mudbath well done to your DS that is great!
AnWsMum well done to little W, super star!
Thank you for my hugs, it means a huge amount to me. Dad told me this morning he got engaged, unsure how I feel about it if anything, bit odd. Party went well, noisy but well. Been out to Sainsbugs as we needed a few things, spending just what I need to & picked up something for Grace using my Nectar points so just my neice to buy for then thats the youngsters sorted. Once they are bought for that is the priority & we're onto token gifts if necessary, tough luck if they twist we are skint. I get a bit bored of some of his family sticking his nose in the air anyway (we buy for 3 adults on my side of things, 14 on his!)
Just cooking some eggs for my supper, only had one meal today & feeling very hungry. Going to DPs club tomorrow, taking the time there (after the meeting) to do some cards, paperwork I need sorting etcOne day I might be more organised...........

toots - glad you made it back from your mother's in one piece! I sincerely hope you aren't going to hers for Christmas, as you've had your quota for the moment  and you need to spend your time around positive people
(((hugs))) lil_me
I've managed to wrap a few presents, but I'm still working some of them out... I'm doing non-family wrapping first, in case I see any of the people they're for sometime soon. So the living room is a tip, with presents, wrapping paper and ribbon scattered liberally all over it!
I've done most of my cards - all the flylady ones are done, so ready to post of to L-L this week (depending on what day I work from home).
Off to bed now - hopefully I won't oversleep as there seems to be yet more to get done tomorrow!0 -
Just finished updating finances again, tight now til payday  and I need food and toilet rolls tomorrow  but then I have a few lottery tickets I have to check so fingers crossed :rotfl:
Well done to Master W and Mudbath's DS on their achievements and Miss A on her sponsored swim.
Toots sounds like a trying day but be proud of what you tried to do for her even if she was a little ungracious about yours and DB's efforts.
Right I am offski now, couple more pressies to order
Catch you all tomorrow

Good evening/morning
I was so tired when I got in from work yesterday, that I gave up on my list and had a nap before sorting tea. Then shopping at Mr M's and sorting out a bag of goodies for DS1 to take to his friend's for a sleepover.
My MIL is improving. She was told at the hospital to stop the Warfarin and go back on Aspirin, but she's got an appointment with the GP early next week and will hopefully get it sorted. I think there are too many clinics/doctors/hospitals involved in her care and they don't communicate well enough. I doesn't help that she's also on lots of other meds.
Today was much better. I didn't go out at all and made a start on the kitchen. This is what I managed to do:
WM x 3
DW x 2
put rest of shopping away
made meals (HM corned beef hash for tea, with edible dumplings for a change)
soaked fruit for Christmas cake
cleared and cleaned worktops and wiped small appliances
sorted through and cleaned 3 food cupboards (with a knock-on effect on dresser in DR, which now holds stuff that was previously homeless)
wiped DW and WM
washed a load of baking trays and other bits and pieces lurking in the kitchen
tried to make rice crispie buns with DS2, but the chocolate wouldn't melt properly - don't know what went wrong
phoned friend from work to thank her for chocolate and flower delivery - she'd forgotten my birthday and was mortified - such a lovely treat, though
I was at it for hours, but it doesn't look like much written down. I'd hoped to finish the kitchen, but there's a lot left to do (cupboard doors, light fitting, back door, floor, tall shelf with all sorts on it). I'll try to do a bit more tomorrow.
Toots - don't worry about the pm. You've given me a lot of good advice already and you have so much to think about. Sorry the visit to your mum's didn't turn out to be more enjoyable. You deserve better, not just because you went to so much trouble for her.
Pigpen - if nothing else works re the christmas card list, I'll go back on facebook. I think I can get my account back anytime.
Good night all - hope you enjoy the rest of the weekend.

Morning ladies,
'Once in royal Davids city,
Stood a lowly cattle shed,
Where a mother laid her Baby,
In a manger for His bed:
Mary was that mother mild,
Jesus Christ, her little Child.
He came down to earth from heaven,
Who is God and Lord of all,
And His shelter was a stable,
And His cradle was a stall:
With the poor, and mean, and lowly,
Lived on earth our Saviour holy.'

Toots - I am so sorry. You deserve so much better from your mother. My mother is the matriach in our family and her word is law and she always always made me feel like I was never good enough for her, no matter what I did. And she now hasn't spoken to me for three years. When she was lovely she was really lovely but you never knew when she would suddenly 'turn' and throw something in your face to hurt you. I feel so bad for you and can only send huge hugs.
LadyL -Mothers huh?
Rose -as always
AnW's - Congrats to your son!
Mudbath - Congrats also to your sons TaeQuondo award
Sexymouse - Good luck for your NQT assessment.
I spoke to Tristans' sister about ten mins ago and she said he is still struggling to stay conscious for more than 10 or 15 mins and they are trying to get energy drinks down him. He has an IV but he needs to put weight on. I passed on all the good wishes etc from here to her. His wife and kids should be home tomorrow so that will perk him up.
Not posting a list - really cannot be bothered. Going to veg out, watch TV and have a lovely roast chicken dinner.
Diva.xTo be frugal, you need to spend money wisely, simply spending less is not enough. If you can't handle me at my worst then you don't deserve me at my best...Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the little voice at the end of the day that says I will try again tomorrow.0 -
I might even get some flying done today
But, to be honest, my own extra's are higher on the agenda, than flying at the moment
Only because of the time of year, pressies to wrap, cards to write, wine to bottle...for pressies...ect ect ect...
I might finish the kitchen list later, when I have finished faffing in there later today
Though, I cant really promise anything:eek::D

Good morning all, not had time to catch up, only skimmer over a few post, hugs to you all :T
My house is shining like a new pin due to the fact that the kids went to the cinema and then for something to eat with their Granny yesterday, DH was working then playing in a pool tournament.
I was supposed to be going to visit a friend who has just had a baby 4 weeks ago and she said she would phone when she got home as she was going to 1 shop but she never phoned until 5.15 and kids were coming back at 6  So I spent the whole time flying and got the rest of my lists done, done both kids rooms as well so today am just about to leave DH with DS and go out for some retail therapy  Aldi are doing a buffet server thing which I really want and I also need to try and find brown leggings for DD's brownie party. So have a lovely day whatever you do
and I may catch up with you all later :A

Morning All
I have a busy day today as it is the Beavers' Christmas party this afternoon and I am helping out so I've got to be there for 1. That finishes at 5 and then DD has got to get changed into her school uniform and she's got to be at a carol concert for 5.30 where the school choir are singing. That finishes at 7.45 so I might eventually be home for 8 - probably shattered!
This morning I'm hoping to get the LR sorted as DH is taking the kids food shopping and they are having their dinner there before he drops them off at the party at 2.
Hope everyone has a good day
Hugs to all
