hollyh hug for you my dear with the memory.
Just sorting out the Christmas Eve Hampers - thinking about wrapping them up, and realised better not as the snowman soup will go off a bit with the marshmallows so will delay the wrapping them up for a while.
Presents are more or less sorted now and lots are wrapped - will leave the rest a week or 2 now to get a bit closer. Found my Christmas DVDs today and will watch those while finishing the wrapping!final unsecured debt to repay currently £8333Proud to be Dealing With my DebtDFW Nerd 1154 Long Haul 1550 -

Evening! It's been quiet on here today - where is everyone?
I went to football then caught up on some TV before watching the last hour or so of Return of the Jedi
It's raining quite heavily again here  and I had to put the lights on at 3:00!!!
Can anyone tell me which programme I need to open the Christmas Card list? Please ......."There's only one way of life and that's your own" - Levellers

Evening all
Walked 11 miles then was pooped, so came back and read by book tucked up in bed then snoozed for an hour. Just had a chinese takeaway and washed up and we're going to watch a film soon. Just waiting for the wm to finish so i can swap it over.
DH has promised to do some flying tomorrow whilst I go to church, then we're at his parents for lunch. Will hopefully get a couple more stars....Mum to gorgeous baby boy born Sept 2010:j0 -

Went shopping in Newbury... drove to Winchester, had lunch with DB & SiL, walked into town, had haircut, did more shopping (including a few decorations), walked back (good thing my SiL had lent me an umbrella!), had tea with DB & SiL, drove home, unpacked the car.
Have just had supper (omelette & baked beans) and am now going to start having a proper sort out of my Christmas presents.
Tomorrow I need to go to the farmers' market, buy loo paper before I run out  and possibly brave homebase or similar for a few more decorations.
Oxfam have got some lovely and very good value christmas cards, recycled wrapping paper and gorgeous candles (in fact, the jasmine-scented angels are fabulous - I'm not sure whether they're an unusual decoration or an unusual present...)
Sitting room is no longer tidy... it's covered in bags. Hopefully I'll make inroads tonight.0 -

DS Has made ready brek....
goodness knows WHAT he did but I'm half way through cleaning the kitchen...ALL THE MUGS NEED TO BE WASHED NOW - and I have JUST seen the dining room....good job he has gone out to his dads. I am resisting phoning him up there and ranting at him so I don't look like a mad crazy woman in exOHs eyes....all my CLEAN washing is covered too:mad::mad::mad::mad:We're about 18 miles south of Witney....good point, though, we've got a good Waitrose here, so might be worth going in there. Much better atmosphere to be honest!gratefulforhelp wrote: »My DD2 who is used to Waitrose, gets dead confused in tesco, she beams at people and they completely blank her. In Waitrose (ours is mainly families and the retired) everyone coo-coos her.
Toots, that was so funny! Brilliant!

Triker being in debt and potential money worries are very scary, I can completely understand why you are worried xx
Lala hope you are ok
AJ I’ve only ever shopped at Tesco, but you get all the same deals online as in the shop, and I’ve never had any probs with the veg, it’s always been nice

Triker - sounds as if you would be best off with the lease through work. Then you don't have to worry about ongoing costs, your fuel should be covered by the mileage allowance, and if you stop working the car can simply go back... might be worth checking the policy on sickness, but otherwise, if you've got one car between you that you own, it makes sense (the reason I don't do it is because it's just me, so if I left somewhere, I'd have to sort out an alternative in a hurry... and we don't have public transport here!
Suppose I should go and deal with either cards or presents :rolleyes:0 -
Wondered where you were... what's your diary like for next week?
Hi Greenbee,
Here, it has been an odd week, with various poorlies & worse all over the place (no longer wish to answer a phone), but ending up with a fab choral concert Friday evening. And today I've argued with a tree or two, so look far from pretty with a gash on my cheek, but did some Christmas shopping this afternoon with a girlfriend in F. P. Love the Debenhams & DS had to be stopped from venturing into Build A Bear.
Nursing a medicinal red wine, before tacking sorting out some Playmobil. Sorting the keep pile from the to Ebay pile - I may be some time!
Next week Friday is looking very good, or maybe late morning/early afternoon Wednesday. Or can do a shuffle around... Sling me an email Monday and we can sort out?
Off to tackle the playmobil...eurgh.
MoamAlthough no one can go back and make a brand new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending.... life is a WIP.
Snowball says too far away, working hard to bring it forward.0
