Aww Soappie, you DD was fantastic given the circumstances. No training in the world prepares you for 'real time, it's happening NOW' stuff... and by the sounds of it your DD did everything she could. Absolutely well done to her.:T

I've decluttered a load of rubbish from my purse, paid off one credit card, cancelled it and cut it up.:j

My debt total is already decreasing.:D

  • kazm for DH what about one of those experince of a lifetime gifts - like off road driving/ hot air balloon flight/ glider flight/ white water rafting? Does he have a good chair at the pc - what about one of these high back leather comfy jobs? watch/ camera/ new phone/ massage/ jacket/ magazine subscription???
Pollybear yip I saw you had done all the lists so you had your full house last nite!! Hope you have a lovely relaxing weekend - are you going to do something nice or just chill?
toochoosey - could you say they are for a friends's child? that you are just storing them? maybe Santa dropped some off early as he had so many to do and you will have to wrap them for him? better to get them away out of sight asap!!!!

However, as you're busy organising a spectacular send off for yourself, I take it we're all invited :D
you will all be very welcome - although i dont want this mass of flyladies sitting in the back of the cathedral wondering where the food is!!!! i will be watching you know so you will have to be on your best behaviour - and no black allowed!!!!
Ishtar how blooming annoying - could you get someone to watch the children while you whizz round - you could do a list from the website and stick to it to save time too?
carlsberggran - what a lovely surpise from the soon to be uncle!!!! and Christmas will be very special - enjoy the next 10 days and stop stressing honey - it will all come right with DD - her hormones are all over the place just now - she doesnt mean any harm by it. xx
boddy hugs for DD - hope she gets well soon
vanilla what about a paternity test for starters - they only cost about £40 at the GP's? Glad you all had a nice day for DH's birthday yesterday - you all deserve it - belated happy birthday to DH!!
glad the MP is helping - hope his letter does some good. good luck to the elves tonight:rolleyes:
Lady L i forgot to say earlier I POSTED MY CARDS TODAY:T:jI put in all the big stamps I had so I hope it helps.

ok what started out as a semi busy day got really busy for a little while - but I am glad to say all is quiet and in fact i will be going to bed shortly as i have to be up about 6 tomorrow.

I went shopping with crossroads at 9 to 11 - morrisons and a couple of other bits - i was just sitting relaxing afterwards and waiting for the lunchtime carer when the door opened and in walked the painter and his wife with my wardrobe!!!
Instant panic on toots behalf as i wasn't expectig them until this evening but thought more likely tomorrow when i was away (they have a key).

so queue much discussion and re-arranging of bedroom - bringing in the wardrobe - I only helped a little - and then final movements of furniture and reconnection of various electrical bits - so i now have a new (to me) wardrobe - which is :eek:smaller than my last  - it will be big enough for clothes but not really big enough for some extra things that I needed to keep in there - not to worry it is very nice and I will get things organised.
At least now i can start getting some stuff out of the LR.
While we were moving etc the carer came in for my lunch - blooming typical but we got there in the end - so now i have been in and out of the bedroom looking at the carpet, the wardrobe and the whole room:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
I havent had the bed in this position before so it will take a bit of getting used to i think. they also brought me a light fitting for the LR so the one that is in there just now will probably be ok for the bedroom. and i gave her a small folding table so all round it was great.

Hubby the painter will be here at 8 on monday to start the hall so everything is coming together.

My arm is sore today after my SF jag yesterday so it will be a nuisance tomorrow.

I have done a small washing load and got it dried despite the frost
DW has been on and emptied

    shopping all put away

I am off to bed shortly as i said and wont be on tomorrow until late evening if at all so dont panic - we are off to Mother's for lunch - it was her 80th birthday today - 4 hours driving each way!!!

Hugs and get well wishes to all the poorlies

special love and hugs to LadyL

and a big squishy hug to the rest of you
    toots xx

Not entirely sure I'll get the Friday star though - quite a lot to do this weekend. DS1 is out all tomorrow, as Oxfam has been offered a table at a local charities Christmas Fair, and his shop manager is sending him to do it, with another volunteer as well. He's quite chuffed to be asked. DD is working 10-2pm. Not sure what DS2 is up to.

I have lessons to plan, some other stuff to prepare, and also want to finish the shopping to take over next week for our family gathering, and also make the Christmas puddings, which were postponed last week.

The mammoth is here: www.nhmshop.co.uk/kids-soft-toys/woolly-mammoth-soft-toy/product.html (can't get link to work - gggrrr!)product.htmlproduct.htm

My nephew asked for the small one, but the bigger one is just gorgeous.
I only have to find presents for my brother, sister in law, and my Dad. I think I may get a sleeveless pullover for Dad - I could have knitted one had I thought of it earlier! Gardening book maybe for brother - really not sure though.

Love and hugs toots - have a lovely day tomorrow!

    Love also for Lady-Liberty.

I think a cathedral deserves a new outfit ;) so you need to hang in there to give us all time to save up :p Besides which, you need to get your moneys worth from your lovely newly-decorated flat... oh yes, and you've got your list to get through - have you managed to sort out a Mr Toots yet... because you can't go before that's sorted out :D

soappie - your DD did a fantastic job. She kept him going until the ambulance arrived, which is what she was trying to do. I'm sure that whatever the outcome, he, his family and the poor client will be incredibly grateful that she was there and had the skills to help him.

    Well done Triker

Carlsberg - great news about DS, and let's hope DD2 settles down soon.

wilf - how much stuff have your photographed to list? And will you be listing non-stop all weekend?!

I will be getting my christmas cards tomorrow, so should have them all sent off on Monday...
... and I need to track down moam and arrange to meet up, as I have stuff in the office for her!

Plan for this evening is to find some food and eat it lying on the sofa watching a DVD...:D
  • Evening folks. Off to find the remains of my list from Wednesday.

Toots the DNA has to be done through the CSA, they won't except the results unless it's through them. the gits it would have been a lot cheaper through GP.
