oooh still here as waiting for DD2 to pick a top before she goes up to her dad's been up there over half an hour! !!!!!!? Just grab something girl - I WANT/DESERVE a drink.

But my oooohhh was I forgot with all the troubles to tell you that my wonderful DS is HOME! For 10 days!!!!! And the best bit is his commanding officer has changed Ds's shift so that HE IS HOME FOR CHRISTMAS rather than the 28th!!!!! Am sooooo happy, we were having christmas this weekend for him till he came home yesterday and said. Finished his shift wednesday night, drove from Munchengladbach to West Yorkshire on Red Bull, showered and changed at his dad's and was at my work at 9.10 am yesterday to tell me.

He hopefully will talk some sense into DD2 whilst he's here; she sometimes listens to him more than the rest of us. She is volatile at the best of times but being pregnant she is a MONSTER and we are walking round on eggshells. Though she's been lovely since I got in and even hugged and kissed me for no apparant reason - does the heart good for sure xx

loved this post made me smile so just had to repeat it!:D

Carlsberggal - that's top news about DS being home for the whole of Christmas - and good news too that maybe he can help DD xxx

Well, an interesting evening. My DD got home from work in a bit of a state. She's a legal secretary in a solicitors in a seriously wealthy part of town. An elderly client came in today and was discussing things with a solicitor when he had a heart attack.

As DD was closest to the room he was in with the solicitor, she was called in to help and to dial 999. She's also the first aider in the office. She did her best under the circumstances and liaised with the emergency services, got his airways clear, laid him flat, though the two of them couldn't get him on the floor because he was too heavy so they improvised with chairs and kept him going.

The paramedics got there within 8 minutes and the chap was still alive when he was taken out (though the prognosis doesn't seem to be good) but DD is now suffering, I think, from a little bit of post traumatic stress. She's saying, I should have done this, I should have done that.... and she's getting flash backs.

NN came over for gin and we've prompted DD talk about it. We've praised her for what she did do and her improvisation of chairs to lay him flat etc. etc. and we've told her not to beat herself up about the things she's now thinking she could have done but didn't. But I think she'll carry it with her for a little while.

She's off out tonight for drinks with friends so that should help. If anyone has a moment to spare to send thoughts to help her cope with what happened - and most of all for her to realise what she actually did do was not lacking in anyway I'll be grateful.

Off to find a glass of wine and do dinner.....
