    Evening all
Done my last pre xmas shop. Thankgod. Should have everything to see us through till new year now apart from milk, bread and maybe cheese. Also got my last few choccy gifts and a sat nav for my OH. Paid using the last of my tesco stamps - total £127 but had £100 worth of stamps to use so only had to put £27 towards it. Those stamps have been a total life saver. I've started saving my next lot for next year already and for when my bubs is born in april.

I was only meant to spend £100 this month, but I'm already at £112.47. I've had now willpower this month, which has meant that I've not been taking packed lunches to work and I've been putting lots of crisps and biscuits in my shopping basket :( Luckily my mum will be feeding me for the rest of the month. Oh well there's always next month :)

Another £23.14 today. I decided to buy some lamb to put in a veg stew and ended up buying chicken and ham as well in the 3 for £10 offer!
The other £15 was veg, ginger, sausages, stock cubes and washing powder.
I'm going to sort out my last Mr T delivery of the year tonight and I think it will just about sink me!

  • Well another day, so inevitably another spend for me! Well that's how it feels, anyway at the moment. I am now officially over my budget. I now have my xmas pudding, passat, toilet rolls etc but still have the turkey & veg to get! I am a bit annoyed with myself tbh. I do use a shopping list Rosieben but I also get sucked into buying other things that aren't on the list if they are on offer or if I have my kids with me which I did last nite. Got to think limit damagation mode now. Normally get a fresh turkey every year but wondering now whether to get a frozen one from aldi which would be cheaper.
Also on the positive side, I am hoping that January will be a much better month considering how well stocked the freezer and cupboards actually are.
Sorry to quote myself but just realised that I got my words completely muddled up the other day! I really seem to have lost the plot the last week. The other day I signed a xmas card for a neighbour from myself & my ex-husband who I separated from 6 years ago and have been living here with OH for the last 3 and half. Good job I realised before I posted it through their door as that would no doubt have confused them! And yesterday I went to finish off my present wrapping by putting all the labels on the presents that I had previously wrapped but didn't have labels for at the time. I thought I had put the persons name on all of them so that I could just put the label on top but yesterday I could not find a single name so had to half unwrap them all to establish what they were & who they were for! Aargh!
Sorry a bit off topic I know!

Well my budget has been well and truly blown! My total is running at £425.84 against a target of £320:eek: Why I set myself such an unrealistic target in December I do not know:confused: I mean, I spent £326 last month so how on earth was I gonna hit £320 with Christmas to cater for? What a twit I am.:o We haven't gone mad with the Christmas food shopping or spent a fortune on takeaways or anything like that so I actually am OK with the amount we have spent.

Still, all done now except the fresh veg. Also stocked up on some good offers in Mr M and Mr S. Meals plans done until the end of the year.

I think I am going to try using cash again from Jan. I will put the amount of weekly grocery money in my GC purse and only spend that.
    Save £10,500 - £2673.77 - 25.5%

  • I have gone way over this month. Spent £37.88 on Saturday - a friend took me shopping as I was supposed to have been away this weekend but didn't go due to the weather and having looked at the forecast for the week knew that I wasn't going to be able to go out on my own for a while.

    Declaring £73.16 for December please.

So I have enough in my fridge to last me until I go away next Monday (4 weeks in the Canary Island sunshine - great for my bones!) and also have everything needed for the Christmas day breakfast I am providing for friends.

Merry Christmas everyone, have a fabulous start to 2010 and I shall see you all back here for the February GC having made proper budgets for everything for the full year which should prevent problems next December. Things will be tight because I have used my contingency funds and I need to replenish those.
