Well, had a NSD yesterday, but Mr T delivered this morning. The van had problems in our lane and kept slipping backwards, it came close to hitting our neighbour's van!!. :eek:Thankfully DH and DS2 were still here (now at a rugby match). The used spades, shovels, some (frozen) builders sand and a tub of table salt!! It was touch and go as to whether the van could be parked safely, so the food could be taken off!!

I have cleaned out the fridge, and found homes for everything. It's a tight squeeze as we got two presents yesterday that have to be kept in the fridge...cheese methinks!! Just as well I have plenty of biscuits!! :D

This afternoon I will be cooking: spag bol with one of the mince packs and beef-burgers with the other. The reduced beef for roasting is huge, so I am going to half it ...still quite big bits! One is for tea tonight and the other will find a nook in the freezer. If I feel up to it I will make a few quiches, keep one out for tomorrow's tea and the rest will get frozen. The trex pastry is really good, so may make more mince pies too!

Only have to pick up the ducks from the butchers on Wednesday..and get extra veg which isn't included in the veg box - then we are done!

Must re-adjust my meal-plans for the next two weeks - picked up a few things reduced and on offer. Now planning on having tea in for DS1's 20th birthday on the 28th...he is spending half the day at his GF's, then they are coming over for a few days, before going off to the numerous New Year parties they have lined up! Oh to be young again!! _party_

DS2 knows what he wants on Hogmonay - see the New Year watching Jool's
Hootenannie while munching on HM nachos!! Then bed...sounds a good plan!!

Right, off to get stuff done. The GC total is increasing quite a bit, but still well within my December budget...and the freezers, fridge and cupboards are all full!!!

Had another spend last night in the Mr M Whoopsies - and lots of it 'naughty' stuff too ;)

Still need to add it all to my s/sheet so I can update my signature, but I managed to get the one thing I went down for, which was the largest individual spend (I've spent the last 2 days eyeing up a Carrot and Walnut gateau. No way was I paying the £9 full price, but knew it was due to go on clearance last night if it hadn't sold... and I managed to get it for £2.55. It's really yummy too ;) )

Used the Salmon Trimmings and Whoopsied Coley I got on Friday to make a fish pie last night - served 2 of us, and made 4 portions for the freezer. Could probably have stretched it to 7 portions, but we ate late (due to my going out for the Whoopsies at the 'optimum time') so I was starving :rolleyes2

Am I the only person now wishing Christmas was over and done with, purely so I can have some freezer space back?

Took out a large beef joint this morning (1.5kg), some of which will need to go back after cooking - but this barely cleared enough space to put the portions of fish pie in  Every time I open a drawer/compartment at the moment I'm faced with things I have plans to use from next Thursday through to New Year, and can't see how I'm possibly going to squeeze in the last few things I need - let alone any meat bargains I may manage to get in Thursday's Whoopsies

Well had to go to Tesco today to buy a new kettle...spotted one for £5 odd-that'll do fine we thought and popped it in the trolley (along with a turkey roast, 3 bottles of red wine, half price @ £4.49 and a few other (un)necessary bits ;)...checked the till receipt and had been charged £14.89 for the kettle  so off OH went to look at the display again...upshot was the shelf ticket was wrong and we got the £15 kettle for a fiver - well done Tesco I say.... mind you ended up spending £30 or so , however the wine is off another budget as is the kettle.

Also went to Sainsburys looking for a particular CD, sold out, but bought half price beef roast joint and third off tin of goose fat...........another £11.77 spent :o

To justify a little, all the meat is in freezerland for January when we have all the family over so won't have to spend much in that month

Just trying to use up the last of the fresh stuff before we go away on Wednesday morning, so omelettes for tea tonight.

Keep warm everyone, very cold and snowy here in central Scotland (70 degrees in Greece today where we will be on Wednesday :j)
So over budget a bit but won't be spending anything else so declaring at £129.11 for December, thanks

Have a great Christmas everyone and see you all in the New Year

Well i`m just going to have to drop out for this month  i was doing really well too!

Dh took the reciepts to MrM last night to collect the voucher and they KEPT THEM

This wouldn`t normally be a problem but to get the voucher without spending a fortune i`ve been putting our shopping through with Dads and he`s been giving us the money for his and i`ve been putting it all on my bank card.

I do have the card slip but have no way of knowing how much was ours and how much was Dads. If anyone has any magical suggestions then i`m all ears but i really think i`ve blown it :o

Planning on starting the GC again soon :p
