Mr T. delivered yesterday - very disappointed in the substitutions offered - so will prob need to go out again.
£86 - but included 3 months supply of dishwasher, some bubbly and a 3kg beef joint so HO HO HO
NSD yesterday - that's me 6 out of 8 - but it gets harder now with being on holiday for the rest of the decade !!I think I saw you in an ice cream parlour
Drinking milk shakes, cold and long
Smiling and waving and looking so fine0 -
Hello, have updated sig, OH spent £11 (nappies, eggs and diet coke..) We are hoping to do our Christmas shop tomorrow, if the snow isn't to bad and oh's parents take DS (who is on more antibiotics as he is still poorly
) but about £50 of this will not be in the budget as OH is using an M&S giftcard his work have given him
January is going to be tight moneywise for us, so we are cutting down this Christmas and i am hoping the £50 will do EVERYTHING! (wishful thinking maybe! lol)
EDIT - just remembered we were naughty and had take away which was £10 exactly so adding that!August: £149/£150
Sept: £200

I have managed not to spend anymore on food since whatever night I went to Lidl (was than Monday?). Anyway, no more spends since then.
Last night, I got home at a reasonable hour and I knew DH had left cooked rice to make a nasi goreng. And I want to make a macaroni cheese (with bacon and lots of veggies) tonight. So I started chopping veggies for both, going to store tonights, and figured I could cook all veg last night if I DIDN'T use the oil from tuna (so actually used a tuna in brine instead - I usually use the oil tuna is stored in to cook with for nasi goreng as a frugal and extra flavour cheat).
So now, I have my onion, garlic, mushrooms, courgettes, peas, corn and peppers all ready to eat tonight rather than having to clean, chop and cook. So I only need to boil pasta, fry bacon and make cheese sauce. A reasonable option for a Friday night when no one feels like much cooking.
I still have 3 easy dinners for next week (meatballs, chicken kiev and nice sausages), and we are going to find whatever looks tasty and not too huge on Christmas Eve for our Christmas feast - a small turkey, a duck, a goose. So looking like I will be on track for my general budget, rather than the increased budget for December!!
So I am very happy with the grocery budget this week. Now if I could decide on presents for a few more, I'd be happy!!GC 2010 €6,000/ €5,897
GC 2011:Overall Target: €6,000/ €5,442 by October

!SNAP! Skilly.
However, have failed in last week to buy only the bogofs and for the moment and freezer has filled itself again full of 'just in case' food, so not going to starve. Hosting this weekend (both bought for) and on 26th and 27th so will see what i can serve from freezer before buying more..
nov grocery challenge, £.227.69/300, 9/25 nsd: , 7 Cmo, 10 egm.

Manged my 2nd NSD of the month yesterday (working in a supermarket isn't doing my NSD count any good at all :rolleyes2 ), but have brought home a load more Whoopsies tonight !!
Todays haul includes 360g of Coley (39p instead of £1.93) and a 475g tray of Salmon Trimmings (76p,and that was my only full price item - and I managed to get the only tray without a head or tail which I'd never manage to 'process'!!). Now I just want/need to figure out how to turn these into the base for a fish pie for tea tomorrow (and some for the freezer for me at a later date).
Total spends today were £6.03 on goods worth £13.84Cheryl0 -
Today feels like the day when it is all starting to slip away from me a bit!
Spent £22.13 because the folks are coming for a couple of evenings this weekend. I've only bought snacky things but I didn't stick to a list and was a bit random - which I really try not to be these days!
Got a delivery coming next Tuesday so will try not to spend much before then.August Shopping Challenge. 26/8. Budget £250 Spent £256.81.. £6.81 over. So £0.00 a day left.0 -

Still didn't have NSD spent £3 getting milk and bread from the garage when I filled the car with fuel. The snow was really bad so I decided to make sure I had some basics it was worth buying them while I could.
Had a lovely piece of pork for dinner, only cost £2.70 from the coop should have been £5.70 so good deal. :jPad Started 24/2/2010- £261.74

you may find this thread worth a look - Frozen food safety - misconceptions I've put a link in the front list in the Tip section
I've not been around much for the last few days; been unpacking boxes - just 2 more to go and then some reshuffling. I want to have everything tidied up so I can put up my christmas decs and the tree. I'm being really silly about it as its the first time for a few years that I've had room to have a tree and decs. :j so I'm going to town a bit with lights and garlands etc.
I had a mrS delivery last week, will have another one between christmas and new year. Just milk and fresh cream to get for christmas and boxing days and I'm done. Will have a look at GC spends, but I think I'll probably be near my (flexible) budget of £80.
hope you've all sent your letters to santa
