Ok I confess - had fish n chips on Monday (hangs head in shame!) cost £10 for 4 of us! Had a v long day at work, had to leave home at 5.30am to go to London for meeting. Forgot to take out the food from freezer in the morning. Excuses I know, felt very bad afterwards - but done now! So that's £10 to add to my total and also spent £3 yesterday on bread and milk. Doubt I'm going to stay under budget nowOfficial DFW nerd - 282 'Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts'

Has anyone ever made their dog a cake?? How'd it go? I'm thinking about doing one for mine for xmas... am I crazy?!:o
Do you think I could replace the marmite in the cheese & marmite twists for tomato puree or something else?....Had considered a double choc version for the Offspring but didn't want to poison the woofie with the cocoa, but they enjoyed their version too
I only use a third of the sugar in my cakes which also helps I think.
When I first looked into feeding Pup on homemade, I was very surprised to see that dried fruit is as bad as human chocolate for them so perhaps you--& I come to that--should have a look at the info yourself in case it's changed in the past two years. For instance, I recall that while it's safe to use garlic in their food it's the opposite for onion
& dogs love cheese but too much dairy can cause the squits! It's also an idea to give natural yoghurt every now & again to help redress the balance of those thingies in the gut. Our Pup also has trouble with meat--lamb, beef etc--bones; he likes them but they too give him runny tum so we stick to the creamy coloured rawhide now.
As for the twists, I'm sure I've seen people using things like ketchup, pickle & even garlic paste I think......
I am still going to try and resist buying Christmas food (my Mum is bringing the turkey etc - my share is basics and kiddy stuff) until my delivery next Tuesday.
I will see if I can share the voucher or get a lift but it's really only the Co-op's way of forcing money out of me and I think I'd rather stick to my own plan this time.Ok I confess - had fish n chips on Monday....cost £10 for 4 of us!....
Did a stock-up yesterday & must have spent around £45 on actual groceries..I really must get my recording system sorted out once & for all so I can do this properly come 01.01

Just updating signature with today's shopping. It came to £72.70 and included an 8kg frozen turkey. All I need to buy next week for the Christmas meal is starters (prawns & avocado) and the cranberries :T Then just the normal shopping for the week, which is already planned out on paper.
In case anyone is interested Netto are doing the above mentioned turkey for £7.99 and a big frozen turkey crown for £10. I am going to go and buy the crown tomorrow for sandwiches for over the holidays. I'll slice it & freeze it in sandwich size portions to stop any waste.0 -
There's £108.98 left in my virtual money-pot for the month, as I spent £12.47 in MrW yesterday (including some fabulous woopsies that went straight in the freezer and will keep us fed for many many days). I may pop down to Aldi later this week for some bits'n'bobs but other than that mini-shop, I THINK (hope!) I'm fine until after Boxing Day (now that would be sweet.... :rudolf:)0

do you use a shopping list Long tall sally? I'd never manage without one - I have an ongoing list on my pc which I update as I think of something I need, and I update it again after I've shopped; my list is divided into 3 sections - local village shopping, next online shop, and next visit to mrm or mrl with my sis (not very often).... don't throw the string away. You always need string!
