Good morning all, just logged on to update. I have finished all of my pre-xmas shopping - all that's left is fresh fruit, veg and milk for the coming week. I have put £10 aside for that. Today was my last day in the office until January, so bought customary krispy kremes for my team, paid for using part of my stash of Luncheon Vouchers so not really a spend. Likewise, I have £110 of M&S vouchers plus £50 Sainsburys gift card (my birthday is 5 days after xmas, and family usually struggle with present ideas so I always ask for M&S or Sainsbury vouchers - very handy when you're broke). I'll use these to buy luxury biscuits, chocolates and something sparkly, to take to family members we are visitng over christmas. Making mince pies and christmas cake this afternoon - ashamed to say that these are usually shop bought. Also planning to try the Baileys fudge recipe (sorry, can't remember who posted it). So all in all, I'm pretty much organised. I probably won't be logging on again until the festivities are over - so good luck to all of you with your Dec GC and have a great christmas everyone.0

small spend today - OH poorly and needed some soup so topped up with Milk and bread to see us through to Boxing day
totalled up spends at £367 from £500 - so may do OK this month - depending on what SIL requests (she is cooking for us all so whatever she says goes - GC or no GC) - but it will be reasonable and not a blank chequeI think I saw you in an ice cream parlour
Drinking milk shakes, cold and long
Smiling and waving and looking so fine0 -
went into mr t to get bread and baking things i needed, and came out having spent £46.22!
so have gone over budget 'even more....' and also have no freezer space for the planned whoopsie shopping at 5 to closing on xmas eve... oh dear.
the good news, i 'saved' over a fiver on multibuy savings of things i use all the time, plus got whoopsie pork and chicken (all about 30% off). We are now officially stocked for christmas, in fact, we may be stocked for most of january.
Introduced a friend to the site today so Hello Claire, hope to see you on here in January and joining the Grocery Challenge if you wish to!
I have sorted pudding or drinks for dd for tomorrow, we have put out some plastic cups as catchers and we're making 'snowpuppies' tomorrow with milkshake flavouring!
take care everyone

hi just popped in to see how everybody doing, think we are all doing extremely well considering the time of year, i have only £17 left of my £260 budget but am feeling rather smug even although i know i will go over - hopefully by only about £30 or so as have plenty to keep us going and will try and do a whoopsie spend on christmas eve. have just cooked a silverside for christmas eve and used my "new slicer thingy" am absolutelly gobsmacked got 28 decent slices so for the four of us that will do 3 dinners all for about £6.70 -and the leftovers can go on packed lunches. have a big gammon to do too so hopefully will get lots of slices from that and freeze for the new year. before i used to grudge buying roasts just for an ordinary meal because they wouldnt go very far but things will change now ~( hopefully get a couple of whoopsie joints!) keep going and even if your over jsut remember how much worse it could be if you didnt have the support here
have a great christmas and best wishes to you all and your families
thansk folks

Just added Saturday's Whoopsie haul to my spreadsheet - along with another (smaller) haul from tonight. Yesterday was an NSD :T
Have updated signature.......
Now almost £19 below where I aimed to be by end of today, and still have just over £60 left for the rest of the month. Whether I make it or not all depends on how much freezer space I can clear by this Thursday (and next), and how much stuff (mainly looking for meat) I manage to grab from the Bank Holiday Whoopsies to fill these gaps on those daysCheryl0
