Hello Chums, well I am declaring for November and I'm pleased to say that out of my £120.00 that I allowed myself for 'shopping money' I have £17.98 left over to go into next years 'holiday pot'
I am going to carry on with £120 again for December as I will probably come in under again with luck, as I have several days when I will be away or eating out at friends for dinner.
Brilliant thread this as it keeps us all motivated.
Good Luck everyone and I am sure we will all get through the festive season without hopefully breaking the bank0 -
Please put me down for £350 for Dec:eek::eek: this includes diesel too. Its alot more than we usually spend but we have travelling to do too, so probably only spending £200 on food.

Thanks Mrs M0 -
Good morning everyone,
well I'm sticking to my £180 GC for December, plan to reduce it a little in January but don't think December is a good month to even think about that. Spent last night organising and wrapping Christmas presents. Have to do this early as they start being given out on 4th Dec when I start socialising with friends I wont see again until into the new year.
Will try to organise meal plan today. Plan to keep it quite simple as I will be going out for meals quite a few times over the coming weeks and it will all be rich fayre so simple meals at home will suit me just fine.
Had toasted pancakes for breakfast today. Found them in the freezer (whoopsies). They were really nice, in the past I would never have thought of buying and freezing them.
Hope everyone has a frugal Sunday and can spend some time doing something they enjoy. It takes a long time to eat an elephant and I'm doing it a bite at a time!!!0 -
I am so pleased I came in under budget for November but for December I am allocating £400 again due to cooking Christmas dinner for 12 this year.

Just £3 spent today on bread and milk, although think I may have to get T-bags. Was hoping to be able to wait until tomorrow and get them from poundshop in town when on lunchbreak. Don't fancy a trudge into town just for T-bags!! I may make everyone wait - or is that mean?Official DFW nerd - 282 'Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts'

Hi,
I wondered if you could include me: Signs of Recovery in the challenge.
It's my first time, and I am determined to cut down our shopping bills. (Even if it is December!) I'm also trying to trial my budget with a view to doing the cost of living challenge next year.
My budget for groceries for 3 adults and 2 children, plus a very hungry black lab and two ferrets will hopefully come in under £300 pm.
