Guys, who (other than McDonalds) can I complain to about mouldy food?

This is my photo of a burger sold to me in McDonalds (Surbiton branch) earlier today:

as you can see the bottom half is saturated with green mould.

    Thanks in advance.

Really? This isn't a wind-up? What moron would put that together and send it out?
Environmental health people? Whoever it is that inspects food premises anyway.

I would hope parents aren't feeding children this garbage to children, especially ones young enough to be in pushchairs.

I certainly never fed children to my children. However, when my children were young I did indeed take them to McDonalds for a treat. They enjoyed it and as long as it was not/is not a staple of their diet I see no harm.

I really dislike this semi hysterical ranting that suggests McDonalds is evil and poisons small children. Such nonsense.

Have you contacted them about what has happened? They seemed quite helpful with something I emailed them about. I got this reply within 24 hours of emailing them:

    Dear **********

Thank you for contacting us about your visit to our Pontefract restaurant.

I was very sorry to read of your disappointment with the service you received on this
occasion. To return home and find you have not received the items you have ordered and paid for is clearly unacceptable. I offer my sincere apologies for the dissatisfaction caused.

Maintaining the highest standards within our restaurants is of course vital to our success. All staff are focused on providing a speedy, friendly and accurate service and I regret this was not your experience.

Your comments are taken seriously by us and have been passed to the management team at Pontefract. The details of your complaint will be used as part of their assessment of the
restaurant's performance and procedures. These ongoing reviews help to identify any areas needing improvement within the restaurant.

To make amends for your spoilt visit I have sent a voucher to your home address to put
towards a future meal with our compliments. I trust this is well received.

Again, thank you for taking the time and trouble to contact us.

    Regards

I only emailed them because when I contacted the restaurant there was no-one to speak to at that moment and thought if they were giving chicken to vegetarian customers by mistake then they needed to know to avoid it happening to others in the future who would get giddy and kick off big time over a small matter.

I left the contact details on the bottom of their reply so you have details if the OP knows who to contact with their problem if they haven't already contacted someone about it.

You Pay Peanuts you get monkeys.

People who work in McDonald's aren't aspiring chefs and therefore don't care about their work. And this is a result of that.
I worked in Woolies one Xmas and at the time they were paying only £4 an hr which was at east £1 an hr less than most others. I always take a pride in my work and do the very best job I can. It has nothing to do with the wage packet. Whether I was on £12 an hr jobs or £4 an hr jobs I always work hard, am conscientiousand dedicated and give excellent customer service.

Stop taking the mickey out of McDonalds employees.

At least they are off their backsides and working paying taxes - I bet most of those made redundant during the "credit crunch" feel that working in such a place is "beneath them".

People working in McDonalds have 10x as much self-respect as these type of people. Good on them.

Well I wish the motley collection of gobby scrotes, dull-eyed slatterns and other sullen incompetents in my local McD's would actually show some evidence of this......

i worked for mcds for a while...as a teen..it was great fun met some great friends but will admit it is hard work...you are on your feet for 8 hours...you only get your lucnch break no oppertunity t o sit down unless you are a manager..and there is ALWAYS stuff to do even if there are no customers...cleaning, restocking etc etc
the managers make a fair penny too...in 1999 when i worked there our 2nd assistant was on 10.80 and that was 10 years ago :)

granted there are some kids in there that have no idea about customer service, manners etc but ona whole they are just people trying to earn a living...alot more than can be said for a lot of people.

They have more self-respect than the unemployed who refuse to take such positions - fact.

If you dont like the service/ product, then eat elsewhere. They are working and contributing to society unlike the unemployed.
