If thats a genuine Macdonalds burger then thats awful! I find it hard to believe they could sell that but i'll take your word that is genuine and you've not messed with it. You should really kick off about this, I would contact head office and possibly the local newspaper they love this sort of thing! This is a system account and does not represent a real person. For a website whose motto is "consumer revenge" I'm surprised that so many of the posters in this thread oddly seem to be on the side of mcdonalds, and seemingly just because they "believe" mcdonalds food could never be this rotten, and therefore I'm making this up. Do you really think I'd want to tarnish my 5 year mature MSE account to make up some BS about mcdonalds?
I'd be happy if admin would delete this entire thread, I wish I'd never taken the time to post it now. I was trying to inform and I've just ended up with people accusing me of lying. Next time I have a bad experience in a shop or restaurant I'll just keep quiet about it I think. Or post elsewhere where users don't instantly decide that you're lying because they "believe" in mcdonalds (what is it a religion?).
p.s. thanks to the people in this thread who gave useful advice.I hear the cry of the silence around me.0 -
The Praise, Vent and Warnings Forum is where all the MSE trolls hang out. They'll twist your arguments and missquote you. When those weapons don't work they'll pick holes in your grammar and spelling. Why the MSE powers-that-be tolerate them is beyond me. Hits I suppose.
Having looked at your photo my reaction would be to take the burger to Environmental Health and let them sort it out.
A few years ago I was looking in the window of a Baker's Oven in my home town and noticed that all the soda bread was covered in mould. I went in and told the shop assistant. She didn't thamk me. In fact she seemed if anything irritated. So I learned my lesson.0 -
I have heard of this happening before. I think in the case I heard about, the burger shop was 'reusing' the already assesmbled burgers - if they hadn't sold them at closing, they were kept overnight, warmed up and then put back in the 'service chutes' or whatever it is they call them. I'd imagine that mould would grow quite quickly in these circumstances, as you've got nice warm burgers (not hot), sweating away in the waxed paper - it's a perfect environment for mould growth. Also, if the shop isn't rotating the stock properly, then it's quite possible for something to sit there for a couple of days, which is how long I'd imagine it'd take something like that to go that mouldy in a nice warm damp environment, particularly if they've had problems with mould before and they haven't been cleaning properly. Not a pleasant thought really.
In the first instance, you should always go back to the place you bought it from, and personally I would write a letter of complaint to the regional head office. I'd also contact the local environmental health office, as this kind of thing (if genuine) is indicative of much wider failures in that particular branch of the store, and the EHO should be informed. I believe that McDonalds apparently have very strict rules on how long food can be kept (and in gneral there are fairly strict rules on how ong you can keep 'hot' food) so they're obviously not following the rules here. If you've still got the burger, then I'd give that to the EHO too.0 -
That doesn't look like a mcdonalds bun, it looks like a regular bread roll from tesco etc.0
