1.5lbs lost this week which I'm happy with, considering how up the wall things have been recently :)

    I foresee a size 14 bridesmaid's dress, you are doing brilliantly. :)

Coco, glad you are feeling better!

Someone in the office left a tub of M&S pretzels open. There really tasty
    ... and 390 calories per 100g
Managed to stop, must be about 150-200 calories worth I scoffed :o

December is a really hard month for keeping in all under control *sigh*

Well I've managed to drop from 10st 9 to 10st 5 so I got into my dress with the help of some fairly heavy duty "magic knickers". I didn't realise just how uncomfortable those things are! I couldn't get home fast enough to change.:D

Well done Amanita! They're like a flipping suit of armour aren't they? I had magic knickers and a control vest on under my Christmas party dress and it took about 10 minutes to peel myself out of them afterwards :rotfl:

I avoid them, I find them comfortable when on, but the fear and dread of needing a wee and trying to get them up and down too much...

I weighed myself again this morning and despite yesterday's excesses I actually weigh less than I did yesterday. I guess the torture garments didn't leave me room to eat too much!

Might be worth wearing for the whole festive season:rotfl:.

LOL, perhaps the extra activity? standing, circulating when you might otherwise be relaxing? Or perhaps you're not eating enough daily

The other thing I'm going to suggest for helping uis stay on the straight and narrow is, boringly, Calorie count, or acurate calorie diary keeping. But not only as a deterrant. My suggestions for why this might be especially important now rater than ''normal'' times of year are:

    1. Our eating routines will be impacted, fewer default meals of which we roughly know the calories and what we have left over.

    2. If we know whats gone itn we can calulate what we can get rid of via exercise

    3. it will keep us really aware of where our failings to understand in take is...

    4. Yeah, and as a deterrant ....

I had a mince pie this morning, but I'm budgeting for it. 330 kcals....shocking!

  • Good morning everyone.
Starting this challenge has really made me look at the amounts I eat and how what I thought of as a "normal" portion is often a "large portion". Yesterday I didn´t have much time to cook I so put a frozen moussaka in the oven. Although it serves 2 on the packet, I usually eat a whole one myself (it´s not that big) but I looked at the calories and half was 390 calories so I was shocked at how usually I would eat a whole one so almost 800 calories! Anyway, I just ate half with steamed veg and have saved the other half for today. I wasn´t hungry afterwards which just goes to show how we often eat more than we need. I must condition myself to reduce portion sizes from now on.
Can anyone recommend a small pocket size calorie counter I can carry around in my handbag?
    Thanks in advance.
