Hi Everyone, I am so excited I have discovered this thread it is just what I have been looking for - little by litttle weightloss target and supportive group. Dragon I would love to join in January please. I don't have a clue what my weight is but I know I need to loose at least 3 stone.0

Well the Christmas food shopping is done and I have resisted all temptation to buy loads of nice nibbles. The house is full of delicious fruit and veg instead of overflowing with nuts and crisps and mince pies like it usually is at this time of year.0

:)
It's always worth waiting 25 minutes after you've eaten before deciding if you need more food, takes that long for the hungry message to go away however much you eat.
It can be surprising the huge pile of food you can eat and still keep calorie intake under control when you load up with veg.:cool:0 -
Hi everyone,
This link to the article "Enjoy Christmas...without the weight gain" might be of interest to you: http://www.guardianeatright.co.uk/news/article.cfm?article_id=1459&code=27101
I have been dieting for 11 days and lost 1 pound. I thought I might have lost more as I have eaten much less than I usually do but at least the scales are going in the right direction.0 -
Thanks for thr link Valentina2....it says just how I feel about eatin this Christmas.
Imade a hamper for a relative over the weekend, full of lovely homemade stuff....rally I enjoy cooking as much as eating, and giving it away gives all the pleasure of the Christmas smells and ingredients, but gets it out of the house.0 -
Thanks for the link Valentina2, and the story about the moussaka!! I don't eat ready meals as a rule, but always have one or two whoopsied RMs in the freezer for emergency work lunches when I fancy something hot and have no dinner leftovers. Anyway, the Tesco lentil moussaka is absolutely gorgeous (honest) and not that many cals. But I must check again and make sure I have plenty of steamed veg with it next time.
WI for me today, 132.7lbs! So I've put on 1.1lbs this week. Not that surprised really, work Christmas do plus general socialising had me worried that it might be worse! And last week's big loss probably had something to with me going off my food when OH and I weren't speaking. I am keeping going and have resolved to have a little of what I fancy over Christmas and not pig out!Get to 119lbs! 1/2/09: 135.6lbs 1/5/11: 145.8lbs 30/3/13 150lbs 22/2/14 137lbs 2/6/14 128lbs 29/8/14 124lbs 2/6/17 126lbs

Starting this challenge has really made me look at the amounts I eat and how what I thought of as a "normal" portion is often a "large portion". Yesterday I didn´t have much time to cook I so put a frozen moussaka in the oven. Although it serves 2 on the packet, I usually eat a whole one myself (it´s not that big) but I looked at the calories and half was 390 calories so I was shocked at how usually I would eat a whole one so almost 800 calories! Anyway, I just ate half with steamed veg and have saved the other half for today. I wasn´t hungry afterwards which just goes to show how we often eat more than we need. I must condition myself to reduce portion sizes from now on.
Can anyone recommend a small pocket size calorie counter I can carry around in my handbag?
Thanks in advance.
