How's it going for everyone? I'm finding left overs far more tempting and ''dangerous'' than Christmas lunch. Everyone is graing all day....and its hard not to just...pick a long with them.

I hav eatn more, I know because my tummy hurts a bit! The other danger with grazing is not record keeping well: I'm sure I've missed the odd cheeky bite of stilton off the CC food log without realising.

My family have been really supportive. In fct, I think DH is the only person who ate hristmas pudding (I've just finsihed turning the left overs in to Christmas pudding icecream :)) and we don't tend to have lots of junk in the house around Christmas anyway: so no huge amounts of chocolate to dodge.

So, I'm weighing on thursday, I hope to shed most/all of any of the inevitable gain by then.....tomorrow we're going for long walk (we've only managed minimum walks despite promises to walk with me!) and in the evening avoiding snacking oppertunities with a trip to the cinema I think. :)

I am definitely eating and drinking more than I'd planned!!!! :o Need to curb it, though I am positively restrained compared to my family and friends, who have been pigging out on a grand scale!! :rotfl:

I think alcohol is my weakness at the moment. I completely ignored the diet on Christmas Day and sort of on Boxing Day - it was lovely to just eat what I wanted for once :D

I'm not finding leftovers too much of a problem as the only thing we have left is tons of turkey and that's not too bad as long as I'm sensible about what I eat with it. Also we didn't buy in lots of food but we do have lots (and lots) of wine so I'm having to try hard not to accidentally drink it all :o

Off to London on Tuesday and Wednesday with my vegan friend who doesn't eat anything so hopefully that will help me out a bit :rotfl:

I was pretty good over Christmas but I'm also finding the half eaten tins and things a sore trial... Normally I'd take them into work and abandn in the kitchen for everyone to eat but I'm not due to return to the 11th and by then I'll have eaten it all myself....:o

The Dragon, I'm not paying to much attention to what I weigh today. I got on the cales and if they are right I've put 6lbs back on!!! Although I've nibbled and had some alcohol I'm positive its not enough to do that. My best guess is that its:

    a: chnge in eating patterns
b: saltier food (impacting on water weight)
    c: less water intake
    d: extra calories!

Combined with less exercise than normal (since the ice I've been driving into the field to feed the horses, not walking, because in the ice I wouldn't have got back on foot, or in a car ther than 4x4 come to that!)

Today I'm cutting back a little more harshly, and am going to really get drinking. I'm also, having had one coffee this morning, going to let the caffiene go for the day and drink some hot water with lemon juice and a sprig of rosemary in it (rosemary is fantastic for ensuring sweet breath and its a very strong flavour). I'm taking a bottle of water to the cinema to night rather than risk a diet soft drink. I'm well aware I'll miss big chunks of film going to the loo to wee though!

So, don't worry just yet, keep intake good and healthy from now to NYE and you might drop some of the gain. :)

Edit: next morning weigh in four of the extra pounds are gone: so I feel vindicated...its just a natural fluctuation.

Grr...official weigh in still sees me 2lbs up. I lost track of loss this month, but think I still met the 7lbs? Actually checking wieght log on CC I think its 6.7 lbs, but that will do me! :)

Next month I want to do 8 lbs, though I'll stick with the 7lb chllenge...to give me some room :)

Sorry to hear that, The Dragon. It´s the same for my mum who is almost permanently on steriods because of her illnesses and she looks bloated even though she never drinks alcohol and only eat small portions of mainly healthy food and tries to walk to get exercise whenever she is well enough to go out of the house.
As for my dieting, well I was good over Christmas but like Lostinrates I have eaten too much finishing off food and I am ashamed to say that at lunchtime I had 2 glasses of wine, half a packet of mint matchmakers and some Cadbury´s caramel! I didn´t bother with the food diary this week but I am definitely starting it again tomorrow because it helps me to control what I eat. I know I have put weight on, although I haven´t weighed myself but tomorrow I am looking forward to the new January challenge and hoping to lose 7lb.
Happy new year´s eve to all posters. I hope 2010 will be a better year for you all and we will all manage to lose some of that extra weight.
