I've had no email but my account has changed to 'no longer available'. Have sent he first email off to them attaching both the confirmation email and the screen shot of my account marked as 'accepted'. Will send the second email off to them once they try and fob me off with the standard reply.

Thanks for the email templates everyone :).
  • Just got off the phone to a very nice man at trading standards.

He told me.. under contract law, once an offer has been made and accepted, a legally binding contract is formed.
He said we need to read the T&C very closely and see when the official acceptance is, because some companies state that orders aren't accepted until delivery.

He also told me we can pursue them for a claim under "loss of bargain". If we buy the product elsewhere, Additions have to pay the difference.

HOWEVER, there is a clause meaning Additions can claim it was an "obvious" mistake, and therefore not their fault.

I'm sorry it's so vague, there was a lot of information to take in.
But I know which parts of the statutory rights agreement I need to look under now.

Money makes the world go mad, the world go mad, the world go mad! :wall:
  • I think they will be able to get out of this quite easily, from their T&Cs

2.2 When you submit an order to us on our website you will receive a 'bounce back' confirmatory email of this order saying that we are processing your order. You will then receive a second email from us acknowledging your order and giving you estimated timescales for delivery. You should check both emails for accuracy and let us know immediately if there are any errors. Neither of these emails constitute acceptance of the order by us. Your order will be accepted by us (and a contract will then be formed between us) when we despatch the goods to you. Title to the goods will pass to you on delivery.
  • However, if the money has ACTUALLY gone from your account, you still have a case. The money was taken as payment of goods that you are not going to recieve. That's called theft. Let's quote that at them, lmao.

hmm yeah, that doesn't bode well. It's just contradictory as they are showing a status of 'order accepted'.

On the brighter side a lot of people on HUKD are saying they received cancellation emails and then the boxsets turned up! Dispatch must have posted them before they could cancel them all, so there is hope yet!
  • Mine doesn't say order accepted, it says no longer available :(

I have had the email, so I am going to shoot off a reply.
  • I've just started a 'boycott additions etc' group on facebook if you want to join. Couldn't resist it!!!

Crap. Now mine is saying 'no longer available' and the box set my partner ordered is too but he has not received a cancellation email!

And the money taken has not yet been refunded.

Am crossing my toes it's on my mat when I get in!!
