That's my real issue with them now, they're not being very clear. I've had a second email that pretty much just says look at our terms, we're covered. However I asked (and have asked again) which items it refers to, what action has been taken (ie has my refund been processed). My account says different things so I don't know!

Is anyone going to fight this further? I'm slightly tempted if only because about 7 companies have messed me around this Christmas with various things: out of stock, misprices, not reserving items, damaged items etc, and I'm getting fed up of such poor customer service!

To be honest, this did seem like a "too good to be true" deal. However, I thought I may as well give it a go! I ordered CSI and Desperate Housewives on my additions account, order went through, addded to my account, delivery date was set for 4 December.

However whenever I tried to track my order, it just took me to an error page. A couple of days ago, I tried to track again, and it said I had no orders. On checking my Additions account, apparently I had no previous transactions. It had just disappeared!

I received no communication from Additions, no cancellation email, nothing!

I contacted them, and 48 hours later was informed my order was no longer available. That's all they said!

OK fair enough, it would have been a bonus if I had actually received the items at such a cheap price, I was half expecting the order to be cancelled or something similar. But to just delete the order and more or less pretend it never happened? Seriously unimpressed with this company!

Plus it isn't out of stock, thats just a lie, because if you go back in they are all back up, in stock, at the 'correct' prices.
I know we're probably getting nowhere, but it was worht a punt. I've not received any refund yet though!
  • I've just received this email response to my complaint -

    Dear,

Thanks for your recent order for Buffy Series (PN43618).
We try to make sure all our website prices are correct. Unfortunately however, mistakes do sometimes occur. At the time your order was placed the price of the item was incorrectly listed at £25.00.
    The correct price is £79.00.
Mistakes like this are most unusual and so I apologise for any disappointment this mistake may have caused you.

    Kind Regards

Is it worth emailing back that if it is on stock then they legally have to complete it. I thought they could only not send it if it was out of stock (like i was told on the phone), but it is in stock according to her?

They could argue its different stock.

Also did they actually debit your account. What you need to realise is sometimes funds are "reserved". This doesnt mean its a concluded transaction and it can drop off later. Depending on the bank these sometimes even show on statements or online banking.

No this is not correct. Whoever told you this was talking crap.

    From their terms

    Order Acceptance
Your order will be accepted by us, and a contract will then be formed between us, when we despatch the goods to you.

Therefore no contract exists until they dispatch the goods and they can cancel your orders for any reason they feel like until this point whether they have stock or not.

Jewelleryfan I would ask for clarification, explaining you've been told two different things, whether you'll get clarification is another matter, I'm still waiting

Imagine if they were an eBay seller with ratings scores, they wouldn't get away with such bad service quite as easily.

Hi, The money has been taken out of my account but the lady i spoke to says in on hold for the bank to send them and the bank will refund in a few days.
Is it worth emailing them back as the item is in stock but at the price they want? Thanks

Sorry just been your reply to my other post, Thanks
