Iv not had a cancellation email either *fingers crossed*
  • Also just noticed that these DVDs are now back in stock on the Additions Direct website at ridiculous prices!

    CSI: £269.00
    BSG: £99.00

    Who would pay that?!
  • I would challenge it, i have challenged things like this in the past and won. If you want me to check over your letter before you send it let me know. Also send it recorded delivery via post as emails wont count (citizen advise recommends this)

    Hi,
    Got the same email. :(

Had a look at the terms...

3.2 Whilst it is our intention to keep our website up to date and error free, product description or pricing errors may occur. If we discover such an error after you have submitted an order to us, we will contact you prior to accepting your order with the correct details. You may then either cancel your order or re-confirm it based on the correct information. If we are unable to contact you, we will treat your order as cancelled.

Is it worth challenging this if the order was accepted??
Money makes the world go mad, the world go mad, the world go mad! :wall:
  • I've sent mine (as above) via the online complaints form. They have said to expect a response within 48 hours so I'll let you know what they say.

I haven't got a cancellation email yet, either.

But if and when I do, I'll be challenging it to high Hell as they haven't got a leg to stand on. The terms and conditions CLEARLY state PRIOR to acceptance.
My order has been accepted already. There's no clause for them to hide behind. Those DVDs are legally mine.

  • I've received cancellation email BUT in my account it still shows order accepted. Puzzling!

Maybe it would be a good idea to take a screenshot of your account screen showing the order as accepted in your basket? I've done this and saved it just in case I need to challenge them and they change the status on my account. The screen shot along with the confirmation email should be good evidence :)

I printed mine off as soon as it showed up on screen, on bottom of it my printer prints the date and time also! Iv not recieved a cancelation email but mine is expected to be delivered on the 8th. If it got cancelled I wouldnt of been that bothered, but after seeing what everyone else is saying and the clause they are using as a cancelation then I will be complaining if it gets cancelled!
  • Just had another call from Additions regarding the phone call I received last night about cancellation of CSI and they said it was now cancelled due to a misprice. They started quoting the terms and conditions and I quoted what other people have said above about 'Prior to acceptance of order' (3.2). My reply has been escalated to a manager to call me back.

I also pointed out to them (nicely) that they were in danger of getting some very negative publicity about this fiasco given that the misprice was widely advertsied on the internet and potentially millions of people are watching to see what is going to happen whether they made an order or not.

Wonder if we'll be reading about this one in the papers any time soon?

I too received that email and so have sent them this reply..

    Hello,
I have just received your email cancelling my order as it was priced incorrectly.
It stated: "We are sorry to inform you that this item was incorrectly priced on our website. As a result of this error we have cancelled your order for the item in accordance with clause 3.2 of our website terms and conditions."
However section 3.2 of your terms and conditions states: "3.2 Whilst it is our intention to keep our website up to date and error free, product description or pricing errors may occur. If we discover such an error after you have submitted an order to us, we will contact you prior to accepting your order with the correct details. You may then either cancel your order or re-confirm it based on the correct information. If we are unable to contact you, we will treat your order as cancelled."
My order had been accepted and is still showing in my tracking as accepted and the full amount for this purchase has already been taken from my bank account.
It is now your responsibility to fulfil this order as it has already been accepted and clause 3.2 has no bearing on it.
Please get back to me as soon as you can to confirm that you will fulfil my order.
    Regards,
