You don't have to reply, its not compulsory, so I just wouldn't bother if I felt like that. Doesn't it say something in forum etiquette about being nice to all posters and that even if you disagree with someone politeness helps? Good advice in my book.
It does, but in the hidden small print it also says we can be c***s if the OP acts like a complete moron.0 -

I have to do that as well and can't read anything in standard size print now either.Sealed pot challenge #232. Gold stars from Sue-UU - :staradmin :staradmin £75.29 banked

My point is that non-disabled students have problems too, but we do not get any specific help for them. Not all non-disabled students are super-human with no issues of their own. But we do not get the same level of support, both financial and advisory. If there is a problem with something to do with the course we have to find a way to solve it or put up with it.0 -
The only reason why my printer and scanner are expensive, is because they are designed to help me as a visually impaired student. (ie, where the print cartridges go, it's coloured coded so that I know exactly where they go)
Printers aren't that expensive now - I'm sure you can get a decent one for £30.Sealed pot challenge #232. Gold stars from Sue-UU - :staradmin :staradmin £75.29 banked

Did you pay for your printer? Pay for the ink?
That £30 is something I can't really afford right now, never mind even considering the cost of the ink on top of that.0 -
No. I have to pay for the ink; but do get it back.
I'll tell you what, you take my disability, all the crap that comes with it and all my equipment, deal?
I would much rather not have my disability and pay for all the equipment myself. (I probably wouldn't need all of it anyway)Sealed pot challenge #232. Gold stars from Sue-UU - :staradmin :staradmin £75.29 banked

No, I'm just saying that non-disabled people have problems too, ones that don't get any help. So instead of moaning about how disadvantaged you are (when you aren't that badly disadvantaged) think about how nice it must be to get some help.
If you want to swap, then you can take my clinical depression and eating disorder. I don't get any help for those. Although they are just as (if not more so, imo) debilitating as any other illness.0 -
If your disabilities are really that bad, then you should get help.
As for depression - been there, done that and have the scars as well.Sealed pot challenge #232. Gold stars from Sue-UU - :staradmin :staradmin £75.29 banked

Could I ask why you are so reluctant to approach the right people about this?
You say they are aware of the problem - what problem? What problem have you made them aware of, and how did you make them aware of it? And, what was their response?
Are they actually aware your laptop is too heavy for you (bear in mind they probably cannot mind read!)?
If they have refused to do anything (have they refused?), have you been to your doctor and asked them to write and say your other health problems make this solution impossible for you?
Why haven't you asked them if they can provide one bigger screen in each place you need to be?
And lastly, what's the real issue here?
Do you lack the confidence to take responsibility for yourself and say outright what the problem is? Do you tell them it is all wonderful when they check?
Or are you just the sort of person who will never be happy?
Or, do you just like drawing people into long-winded 'yes, but' type conversations on the www?
Are you lonely, perhaps?
Because, as I see it, there is no issue with the laptop that can't be resolved in the same way all your other issues could have been resolved...
So why are you making mountains out of molehills?
You keep doing this so you must be getting something out of it and it sure as hell isn't the answer to your problem...!!0 -
