  • Augh... I know. I think what I might do is get the DVDs, make the lavender thing and leave it at that. You can't get much for a fiver anyway and I'll end up doing what I do every year and going over budget to bulk presents out!

That sounds like a good idea Tete. Plus it looks really fussy when you turn up with 3 presents and she turns up with 1! If it were me I'd feel more uncomfy that I had only brought one pressie than I'd ever stop to consider if the other person bought something in the sale or on 3 for 2 or anything! Its really thoughtful making them a present anyway.

Busy day - I can't believe it's already 4pm and I've only just got chance to get up to speed on MSE - madness! :)

Sounds like your OH had a lovely birthday - I love a giant misshapen cake too!
Well done for staying in budget as well!

Was Paranormal Activity v. scary? I agree with Lara about 'Goats', I was underwhelmed...
I did enjoy New Moon though! I shunned Twilight all year and reluctantly agreed to see New Moon with some friends, but they said I had to watch the first movie first... which I did... and I loved it! It was super cheesy, but now I want a sexy vampire boyfriend :(

Re the Secret Santa: I think I agree with Dinah - there's no point spending an extra £5 for the sake of it, and bulking it out does sort of defeat the point.

I've decided to put together a food hamper for my mum and dad. They don't want any more 'stuff' as they are moving from two houses into one (eek!) so they're a little short on space. I'm really enjoying making it too - I'm choosing all their favourite things so it's a bit more thoughtful (and hopefully cheaper!) than taking them out for lunch or something...

Right, sorry for giant catch up post, hope you all have a good week! X

  • Well I've just looked again at my Christmas present spreadhseet and somehow it's gone from £250 to £295! How is that? And then I remembered I haven't even factored in OH's Mam and Dad, and they always get me something nice, so am going to do what the Old Stylers do and get a couple of cheap jars (£1 in Asda?) and fill them with homemade shortbread and brownies, with a bit of Xmassy ribbon. And definitely going to get the £10 DVDs!!

I've been avoiding Twilight I have to say, but I fear it may be like Harry Potter which I avoided for years and now love! Poddle were your parents getting back together again after getting divorced years ago? I think I'm having a memory! That's so sweet, you must be so happy!

I agree with the others, get the £10 dvd's, it's saving you money, right?! I used to think I had to make up the amount, but not this year. I'm even re-cycling a bracelet someone gave me (it was from Next but not my taste) and giving it to my neice. Just means I can buy myself something nice with all the dosh I've saved, ha!

P.S. As for Christmas spreadsheets, my budget was £300, it's now £350, but at least it is £70 cheaper than last year! And everything is finished, yeah!

54 ebay listings in one night is awesome tete! I'd do the last 3, then you know they're all done, finished with and you don't have to do anything with them other than relist any that dont sell

Morning all, Haven't had much sleep as I got up early and did a few productive things before work so am feeling all happy and motivated - I feel like I'm getting organised and getting some control over my life and it feels good :)

So I got up early and put some pasta on to boil whilst I went in the shower, so I have free dinner instead of buying something like I was going to, and I've taken all my bags of RiSi books and stuff that's currently on ebay and put them in the cupboard under the stairs - out of my way until they're needed.

Also packaged up the four items to send off today as the final person has paid. I have four more items left to list tonight, then I'll pay my fees and withdraw what's left from my paypal account. Checked OD account this morning, no changes there so Quidco and OH's money haven't cleared yet. Never mind - soon soon!

Seems as though all my DDs have now come out too so I should know where I stand a bit for the rest of the month - do still need to list them all though just to be sure.

    Tuesday to-dos:

    - Post parcels
    - Pick up London tickets from TA
    - Make a start on Christmas shopping
    - 10 BP posts
    - BP play through
    - 1 Dooyoo
    - 2 Dooyoo
    - 1 Beauty Judge
    - See if I can get through about mag subscription
    - Phone O2
    - List last 4 ebay items
    - Look at best prices for old phone
    - Open Quidco EDF query
    - Make list of DD dates and amounts

Hehe, they weren't all in one night, that includes what I did on Sunday as well, but I'm still pretty pleased with it - definitely agree - four more things to go on tonight, then when they've all finished I'll have a break over Christmas and relist them in Jan.
