As long as it isn't green and smell all cheesy it should be OK Zig! We're terrible for sticking to use-by dates in our house but we've never been ill so it seems to work!
Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!

A smell didn't hit me as soon as I opened it so I figure it should be ok. But I smelt it up close and it made me heave. I'm not good with bad smells!

  • That's the thing see, even fresh meat smells pretty horrible! I think if it didn't hit you you should be OK, see what it smells like (smell what it smells like?!?) when it's cooking too. Hope you don't poison yourself!!

    Lol, thanks! :D

I had to throw out a beef joint the other week cuz it smelt off before and during cooking and tasted like washing up liquid! I was gutted. I hope this will be ok!

  • *SIGH* We're only ever rich on payday itself aren't we? My DDs are starting to come out and will continue to do so for the next couple of days so my balance has been annihilated. Debt-free high was sadly short lived! Still, filled up on petrol last night and have £37 in my purse - I'm hoping that will see me through to Saturday but if we go out for birthday drinks as well as birthday meal tomorrow I might need to get some more out. Need to spend £25 on train tickets to Edinburgh and also think about my spending money for there as well. Big sigh. Had a fab sewing night last night too, my skirt is starting to resemble a skirt, and what's more a skirt that might fit and that I would actually wear! So it's got me all inspired to make loads of clothes and I've been looking at patterns but they don't come cheap...

Anyway, few things to do today:

    - Book blood appointment
    - Book hair appointment
    - Book opticians appointment
    - Phone envirophone back
    - Copy a review to Ciao with pics
    - Finish Dooyoo review which has been languishing in my email drafts
    - Supermarket
    - Visit granny
    - Book train tickets
    - Do waistband and hem on skirt
    - Perhaps bake a little something
    - Wrap birthday presents

Best get on, hope everyone's well - sorry for the pensive ramblings!

Morning Tete! I know the feeling... But at least you're budgeting so that you can save which is much nicer than scrimping to pay off OD!

Our joint account looks super healthy at the moment, but I worked out that once all our DDs come out it will be at about £7 by the end of the month (which would be okay but we're supposed to use it for food and entertainment too...) I've also noticed that min repayments on our 0% credit cards have snuck down so we're paying less than we were a few months ago but I don't know where the extra money is going! Must be more vigilant and set up extra payments to cover the deficit!

Sorry for boring financial ramble on your thread!

Your to-do list looks fairly gentle today - nothing horrible on there! Whose birthday is it? Is it yours next month?

    Happy Thursday!

ps. I did my first dooyoo in MONTHS and it feels good!

  • It is fairly gentle I'm trying to enjoy things like sewing and baking rather than see them as a chore. I had an email to say you'd done a dooyoo so will go on and rate later, need to catch up on rates anyhow!

Argh - have you got a DD to pay the min amounts then? Sounds like you've been getting your finances in order though which is good - it's a good feeling to know where you are with everything.

It's the birthday of OH's best friend's girlfriend, we're going to this little Italian in Durham, which is quite cheesy looking but sooo good, I can't wait! Diet goes out the window on Friday nights :D My birthday next month yeah, going to Edinburgh just for the night which is all budgeted for. I'm hoping February goes quick really as I've left myself quite short making such a big payment to clear the OD, I can reduce it a bit when it's savings...

Yup, so DDs are all set up for the minimum payment which I know is deadly in ordinary circumstances as it will take me 2,419 years to pay off, but I have other higher interest loans so I actually need to pay off the variance to a different place - very complicated! But I need to be disciplined as there is never a good time to take 'extra' money from current account. Bah.

Once again, apologies for making it all about ME, but at least I didn't get started on my mortgage

Mmm, cheesy Italian with friends sounds nice! How are you getting to Edinburgh? That's on my 30 things to do before I'm 30 list which I haven't even finished compiling yet! As is Wimbledon, although I tried to be proactive and look at tickets for this year last week and the ballot has ALREADY closed. Rubbish. Next year is my last chance!

  • Hey! Didn't realise you had your own thread :D

I find that when I'm trying to be healthy I need a "pig out" day to motivate me through the week.... so definitely deserve the Friday Treats!!

  • You've never been to Edinburgh Poddle? It's lovely! We're going by train, it's a tad more expensive than driving but less hassle, and more like going on holiday :D Yak, I hate tennis, almost as much as I hate golf and cricket!

Hi Elizabeth! Yes, it's not the most inspirational of threads but helps me organise my thoughts a bit! Definitely looking forward to my Friday pig out - lots of creamy sauces and melted cheese!!!!
