Sorry about the driving test Cinny, I must have missed where you said it was yesterday. Most people fail the first time its just nerves. You sound really upbeat about moving out though.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Sounds very fishy about the OH Tete, you seem to be having a tough time of it with him recently, I hope it's just a phase that will pass quickly! Maybe he is stalling so you decide to go to Oz like Dinah says....? Sorry you're feeling so blue about it all, don't lose hope, at least you've got the MOF fund to help you get a little flat if OH won't pull himself together! I threatened my OH with that you know, my friends had a great house in Leeds and I told him that I was thinking about moving in with them and getting a job over there since he was unwilling to give up his man flat and I needed to move out of my parents' house, once he knew I was serious he started to panic that I would actually go and quickly changed from saying 'I don't want to lose my man flat' to saying, 'lets buy our own flat'!
Have you got a date for your next test Cinny? You'll pass this time I'm sure! The flats sound good too, you'll be such a sweet little homemaker!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -
I threw a bit of a mini pout at the weekend (over tiles of all things - NIM won't agree to any within our price range), and he offered me the guest room to decorate however I want so I feel like I've got a girly room. Going to have a very vintage/retro all white room no man is ever going to want to stay in!
Thats an interesting thing about Birdie's OH, does yours have a man flat Tete or is he still at home?Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Yeah, all girls seem to threaten their OHs with things ... "I want marriage and kids and if you haven't proposed within x-amount of time I'm leaving" and lo and behold a proposal six months later etc, I TRY and TENTATIVELY broach the subject just to make sure we have the same IDEAS for the future and am made to feel like a cold calculating !!!!! over it. I'm really annoyed and can actually see us splitting over this if things carry on the way they have the last couple of weeks. No, no man flat he lives with his parents, who he doesn't get on with, in a village that he hates, so I don't know what the problem is, unless it's me that's the problem.
Flats are so expensive. All I can afford on my own is some horrible bedsit in a horrible place and even then I'll probably be living on beans on toast, it's so depressing.Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0 -

Which is understandableWish I could say something to make you feel a little better about it all.

Early next month, 5 weeks or so! Really hope I do pass, I want to drive Ol'Greg solo!0 -
Has he actually found places or put them forward, or are you the whole driving force and he's just saying no?
Scary thing to suggest but have you considered sharing with someone? Or This, village location, private land - I think its lovely and VERY budget friendly!Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

That's unlucky Cinny, but I'm sure you'll be flying solo in no time!

That's very sweet! I feel like I missed out on living completely on my own - I have such a romantic idea of what it would be like; reading classics in my windowsill on a rainy Sunday afternoon etc... It's a nice back up!LBM Sep 2008 debt: £27,927.04start weight: 140.2, week 2: 1380 -
He's put a few things forward but it's mostly me suggesting and him vetoing. He's like that with everything though I have to say:
Him - where are we going for tea?
Me - I don't mind, whatever you want.
Him - you choose.
Me - How about ...
Him - Nah...
Me - How about ...
Him - Nah...
Me - How about ...
Him - Nah...
Me - OK well you choose something then.
Him - No, YOU choose!
I could throttle him.
Yeah that's a nice little place Dinah, I might just move in now. I have a romantic idea about living alone too but I think in reality it would be quite lonely, especially as I don't have many friends in the area. I don't really want to share as I'm more likely to get on with my Dad than a bunch of strangers, so I may as well just live with him, that's why I do now.Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0 -
Sorry to hear you still haven't resolved things Tete! I know you're not in debt but does your OH have any financial restraints stopping him from getting a house? I've got debt and my OH hasn't but he has said he'd like to save before we get a place, also he can't quite comprehend how people manage to get big mortgages (he lives right in the centre of his city where a decent sized house is over £165K) - he lives back at home with elderly parents so not ideal!
I've not pushed him to do anything (cos I'm still in debt) but still make comments so he knows it's still got to happen, you should try and agree a timeline and you might find he will come round if he sees you are wanting this for you both not just yourself. Sometimes I feel selfish wanting a house (and probably more debt) but it's a normal thing to want.
P.S. I know the feeling of not wanting to be at home at 29, I got my house a week after my 29th birthday!
P.P.S. Good luck for the next test Cinny, all the best drivers pass second time round!0
