Oooh I had one of those knitting thingies! I never actually produced anything decent on it though!

I love the teacups! They're so pretty, I don't even like tea but I'd drink it out of one of those pretty cups... with a nice biscuit on the side! :)

I was thinking more 'tea and cake' actually. I bet they never get used, they're so dinky they can't hold a decent cuppa!

I got these lovely little cups ages ago and whilst they're very sweet and I love the idea of having coffee and cake on the fancy saucer...the cups are just too darn small! One sip and the cup is empty! I do love them though....

Ah I love those Birdie, never seen any like that before with the little plate! Fairly productiveish morning, not that my boss would see it that way! We have a viewing on a place tomorrow afternoon, my thoughts are split on it, I love all the mature trees and garden etc, and the idea of a sunroom, but there's a bit of a dogy looking gas fire in the living room! Ah we'll see how it goes. I've also managed to spend £55 on one website buying trinkets for birthday pressies and a get well pressies for a friend who's going in for an op next week  still need to get something for Fathers' Day too. On the moneysaving front though, I've discovered that there's one particular slot in the vending machine downstairs that only charges you 50p rather than 55p, and happily it's the one with the Wispas in! :D

They're sweet! I don't think everything has to have a purpose, but try telling that to a boy!

    Well that's good news!

I've been having a mega financial re-shuffle and got a gold card (I know, get me!) with 0% for 15 months and the A&L account with £100 switching bonus plus £50 cashback so I'm feeling quite optimistic. Although I've got a niggling doubt that switching my bank account is going to more trouble than it's worth, not least because I *love* my bank (even though it's wrong!) and I've heard that A&L are rubbish, but it's £150 of free money...

Anyway, that's some money news, but back to more interesting stuff - tell us more about the viewing tomorrow, Tete? Garden and sunroom sound lovely! Is it in your budget and the right area etc?

A & L are absolutely appauling, just pay the money over to meet the requirements, then send it back the next day.

Thanks, I think I will! I'm just ringing around to move all my direct debits from my sole account to my joint account so I won't actually have anything important to transfer!

I was quite annoyed wiuth A&L too, they charged me a £5 under-funding fee most months, even though I had a DD set up to transfer the minimum £500 in, then back out. On months like February, or December where the bank hols are all at the end of the month, the DD wouldn't go in til the next calendar month and I'd get charged  £150 of free money is fab though if you can keep on top of it all, as is 15 months interest free, I dodn't think anyone was doing that sort of thing any more!

On a similar recession theme, I've just been on Amazon and everything I've put in my basket 'for later' has gone up by about £3 - rubbish! I'm having an internal tussle at the moment, I want a Fathers Day book on The Book People and also a sewing book for me :o but delivery is £4 ... and there's the set of Orange prize books for £20 and delivery is free for orders over £25 .... but I can't justify it really, especially when I'm supposed to be in the No More Books club!

House looks nice Poddle, not getting my hopes up too much. It's in Dinah's parents' village actually so I've been picking her brains, good middle ground location for mine and OH's workplaces ... we'll see.

Oh bum, I'm going to have to keep a close eye on them - hope it's worth it!

Same here! But the consolation is that two years ago I'd have already bought everything in my 'for later' basket, so I can feel a little virtuous.

How much for the two books from Book People? Much as I resent paying *anything* for delivery, recently I've decided to suck it up and pay it and spend £14, for example, rather than adding more 'bargains' to my basket and paying £25 for free delivery - I've got about 3 sets of those book people books gathering dust in my living room :o

It's a 'how to use a sewing machine' book for a fiver (£10 elsewhere) and an Alys Fowler Grow Your Own book for Dad £8 (also £10 elsewhere), just fighting the urge to put them through as two seperate 'single item' purchases for £1.95 delivery each, rather than buying them together and paying £3.95, thus saving five whole pence. Don't think it would quite be worthy of a Swirly Martin though would it!?! I'm saving £3 over Amazon though :D
