Birdie that's seriously impressive!! how did you usee so little gas!?!
We only use gas for heating which hasn't been on for ages, when it is on it's only for a couple of hours as the flat is really warm most of the time (big patio doors in the living room which catch the sun most of the day so it warms up like a greenhouse) and we don't use that much hot water, we both have quick showers apart from my every-other-day big wash hair and shave legs shower which takes about 15 minutes! We don't make a point of not using a lot, we just don't. That's the draw of a super efficient new build!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. wowies! we have the heating on far too much for my liking, but my housemates dont like wearing many clothes (think just t shirt and jeans) so we seem to use loads. Tell you what though, I will deffo move somewhere newer when I finally look to buy/seriously rent!0

I nearly always wear a jumper inside (because I'm cold blooded!) and I have my slanket if I get cold, I'm so used to being cold and dressing for it I don't even think about putting the heating on most of the time!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. I have to have heating on in winter but now it's spring I think that it's wrong to have it on so struggle on through! If I get cold I play Just Dance for half an hour to warm up! :rotfl:

We've had no heating since before Easter as the boiler packed up - but because Dad's quite old now he's getting a new one and some insulation for free but it's been a bit of a wait. It hasn't half been cold!
I thought you'd mentioned it Dinah so can't wait to get experimenting!Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0 -

Oh dear, not progressing wildly fast this week. Felt like I'd done a lot last night but in reality all I'd done was fill the washing machine, make a salad, do a bit of sewing and paint my toenails!
Am almost there with my dress, just need to finish sewing up one inside seam and it's finished. It's still too big and therefore not very flattering so I doubt I'll wear it, but I think if I keep on altering it it's going to change the shape of the dress, the zip already looks a bit puckered. Oh well. Onto the next thing!
Had a look at the AQA thing and it wasn't really what I expected. I thought it would be more straightforward, but "What would be a good name for my koi?"! !!!!!!! I decided not to bother in the end - even if I do get accepted it would end up being another thing for me to feel guilty about not doing and I already feel like I don't have any real 'me' time. I read about three pages of The Amber Spyglass last night.Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0 -
Oh dear Tete! Maybe you should pick some smaller books once you finally finish the Amber Effing Spyglass! Whenever I feel bogged down with books I try to hammer through the quick reads so I feel like I'm making some headway! Then I get left with a load of massive brick-sized books to make me feel all daunted!
I have to admit I looked at the AQA application and thought 'What the heck?', the first question had me struggling for about 20 minutes and I kind of felt like they'd reject me anyway since I've not got a high enough education (although I know people with degrees a lot dumber than I am!) so what's the point in pulling my hair out to get rejected?
You're a smart cookie now sewing-wise; I've got a pale pink cashmere jumper that OH shrunk in the wash (thanks a lot...) and I kind of want to turn it into something nice like a little blanket/cushion/toy for a baby girl (should I have one... or to pass on to someone else's girl!) since it wasn't cheap and still feels lovely it's just shrunken and mis-shapen... so how difficult would it be working with what is essentially wool and what can I turn it into?Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary.
