Hi all, hope your flights are ok for Saturday Tete, I'm sure all will be fine and you'll have a fab holiday! I'm taking a break from MSE for a while, spending too much time on here these days, but will lurk occasionally. Thanks for all the walking tips, I will have my compass out in no time (and probably mountain rescue as well)! Take care x0

Thanks Swinstie, things are looking up I have to say - weather looking like showers rather than thunderstorms and flights are fine - yay!
I know what you mean about this taking up too much time, I get much more work done on the days when the boards are quiet for whatever reason. Good luck with the walking, and pop back now and again and tell me all about where you've beenWeightloss: 14.5/65lb0 -

Still a couple of things to do from yesterday but should be OK, just about to get in the shower then off to the hairdresser's.
Can't believe the election results aren't in yet! Who have they got counting them?!
Oh no Lara, at least you got to spend a bit more time with family though? Yeah it all looks to have blown away now, just hope it stays away til we get back, much as I'd like to be stuck in Tuscany for three weeks, we can't afford it!Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0 -
I can't believe they haven't got the results yet either! My area is one of the ones not in yet! It was quite funny on the news this morning because everyone's clearly a bit confused and wondering what happens now, you know after being up all night they just feel like shrugging their shoulders and saying 'I Dunno!'
I'm sure the ash cloud will stay away now so you can have a lovely stress free trip!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -
They're in from our area at least Tete. Although not a suprise result. I'm not happy I'm moving to the one borough in the area that has turned blue. Damned Yarm farmers!Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

I think our area will be either blue or orange, not that it makes any difference as it is impossible for conservatives to get a majority now.
I'd rather live in a blue zone than a red one personally!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -
I actually looked with a much more open mind at the parties this time, but as soon as that horrid smear campaign came out that was my decision made! Plus I watched a debate with DC where he said 'the average age of a first time buyer has risen to 36 under Labour - this is just ridiculous'.... erm, it was 35 in 1991 when we were firmly in Tory territory - he just relies on people not knowing the stats behind what hes on about.
I work for a council (lovely 50% cuts predicted under the Tories), my mum is a teacher, we'd be mental to vote blue - they've pledged to cut 14,800 teachers, I think the simple way I see it is the Tories may have always put more money in the countries coffers and strengthened their position on the global financial stage, they've done it while sticking two fingers up at the North East and the lower income workers. I plan to start a family in the next 4 years, so my vote was for the party that pledged to increase child tax credit, give me more job stability etc.
Anyway, difference of opinion, politics is always a fraught subject, I'm just in fear of the next few days!Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Good points and I don't agree with the conservatives's vision regarding teaching jobs either, the fact that they want to make people get a masters degree before they can qualify to teach is ridiculous never mind the planned cuts. I wanted Lib Dems in as I think it's time for a change from the labour/conservative swing and I'm really disappointed with the turnout they've had but I'm so fed up by Brown that I'd rather anyone else but him running the place. This area hasn't been labour for a long time and I can't even remember seeing a single labour billboard thingy in support of them over the past few weeks- which is fairly typical of where I live!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary.
