Managed no 4 today, yippee :j:j.

Starnac - thanks for the tip about buying the stamps in the sales - can use that as one of my spend days in Jan (see, here I am thinking about joining up in January already, BMF !!!).

Curlytop - if you manage an NSD even when the shops are shut, then I reckon it's an NSD regardless (that's my thinking and I'm sticking to it!).

Coffeeholic - love the logic of free money, will have to try that one

Hugs to anyone who tried for an NSD today and didn't quite get there.

:j:j to anyone who managed one.

And good luck to everyone for tomorrow.
You could always go back to your childhood & make some stamps out of potatoes :p but it's good to see someone is considering taking this Challenge on as a New Years Resolution.
It looks like our biggest supermarket around here is going to be closed on the 26th too  About time the poor shop workers got a decent break, but I dare say if folk were to look hard enough there'll be somewhere open on both days :o Already know I'll be spending on 1st Jan, as I buy three mid-range newspapers to keep as a kind of "living library" for the Offspring to look at in years to come. The papers usually have a brief resume of the previous 12 months so there's no real need to do it more often. I did it every month in 2000 but then that was a special year but finance & storage space have to play a part in this too :D

(do they count over christmas when the shops are shut?-).

of course they do. like other people have said a NSD is a NSD however you manage it. i work nights and on the days i'm working i come home in the morning, get DD ready for nursery, take her to nursery, come home and go to bed, then i get up to pick her up then by the time we've had tea, then bedtime routine for DD it's time for me to go back to work. it's still a NSD even though i've cheated by spending it in bed!!! take them where you can :D

Well I finished my xmas shopping yesterday so that's a relief! Still waiting to see what state my bank account is in, as things paid and money transfered in from savings haven't all shown up yet so it' not a true reflection! Fingers crossed I've done my (rough) sums correctly and that I'll have enough for the rest of the month (and the wedding I'm going to next weekend!)

Today should be a NSD all going well!
