Managed no 4 today, yippee :j:j.
Starnac - thanks for the tip about buying the stamps in the sales - can use that as one of my spend days in Jan (see, here I am thinking about joining up in January already, BMF !!!).
Curlytop - if you manage an NSD even when the shops are shut, then I reckon it's an NSD regardless (that's my thinking and I'm sticking to it!).
Coffeeholic - love the logic of free money, will have to try that one
Hugs to anyone who tried for an NSD today and didn't quite get there.
:j:j to anyone who managed one.
And good luck to everyone for tomorrow. The time you enjoy wasting is not wasted time

Today has been my third no spend day - well it's ten past midnight so i suppose technically, yesterday was my third no spend day. I'm not doing as well as i had anticipated with this challenge.... there always seems to be something that has to be purchased, or otherwise there are unexpected outgoings. Nevermind, only 7 more NSD's to complete and at least Dec 25th will be a NSD...although having said that, there will be a collection at Church that night/morning (not sure yet if we will be at Midnight Mass this year, or the Mass of Christmas morning). I don't suppose I will regard donating my pittance to the collection a 'spend' though.Grocery Challenge for October: £135/£200
NSD Challenge: October 0/140 -
Well done to all the people here who have been racking up NSD's - I have not managed a single one!
I think I am going to have to rewrite my own rules as at the moment I count everything even food which I seem to buy daily.
Anyway I enjoy reading the thread and fantasising about being the frugal person which I am obviously not!!
I'm pinning my hopes on Christmas day though the garage down the road will probably be open!August Shopping Challenge. 26/8. Budget £250 Spent £256.81.. £6.81 over. So £0.00 a day left.0 -

Have managed 4 NSDs so far this month, and hope for another tomorrow. Will be posting Xmas parcels later today (take deep breath!), and plan on getting more eggs so I can get a good lot of baking done today and tomorrow. I really have to get the Christmas cakes made!!! The fruit has been soaking since the weekend, so is nice, plump and tipsy now!
Spends food-wise are not too bad so far this month and the Xmas pressie total is still covered by savings...so could well see the New Year in without major overspends to be paid for!!! Just as well as we have DS1's next term's accomodation to pay for then!
I thought I had gone way over GC-wise, but have filled in my spreadsheet and all looks well, there is one Lidl receipt I have to get from DH, it is about £20 or so methinks.
Right off to get some more knitting done as well as food prep for tea tonight (HM meatballs...mmmmm!).
Have a good and frugal day folks.
