found it. thanks.
i'll try to stop worrying. I can't believe the police can't do anything about excel??
Could i not speak to police about these false claims?
They are not false, unjust and immoral yes, but legally they can ask you for whatever they want. luckily legally you can tell them to get stuffed!
By ignoring them of course!!;)0 -
Does it matter that I don't have my ticket as proof?
Also do you have to buy a new ticket if you leave a car park?
I don't see why I would if I had paid for 4 hours I should get between 6.30 and 10.30 no matter how much i leave and come back?0 -
I am afraid that you are taking this company too seriuosly. You don't owe them a penny. You paid to park and they cannot claim that stupid sum of money becuase you may have broken one of their silly rules. Contract law states that they can only claim for the actual losses they have suffered. In this case it's nothing. What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0

Please stop it! You are worrying about scammers, this is not a fine.
You do not have to 'prove' anything, you must just ignore it.
On the whole board, almost every case is talking about private parking charges, please read how common this scam is:
http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/...play.php?f=163
There are over 100 pages of posts there, almost all telling people like you that they can safely ignore 'parking charge notices from companies. They just send out to the registered keeper (is that you?) computerised debt collector threatening letters, nothing more, no Court, no Bailiffs, no effect on your credit rating by ignoring this scam.
Most of us on here have ignored PPC tickets - honestly they must NOT be paid, it would be like sending money in response to a Nigerian Lottery winning email!
See this info on PPC tickets and make sure you view the Watchdog youtube link linked under the 'Private Parking Companies' title:
http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/....php?t=1363571
Watch and laugh as the Watchdog legal chap makes his ticket into a paper aeroplane and then read as many posts as you can to on our forum - from that first link above - until your eyes glaze over with boredom at seeing the word 'IGNORE' yet again.
Oh, and if anyone in your household is likely to panic when the threatograms start arriving you MUST educate them on this scam as well. Show them the Watchdog link and the PPC letter chains top sticky thread pictures.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I have been ignoring the letters from Excell as advised in here and I today received a letter from a solicitor saying that excell have instructed them to receive payment from me.
The letter is entitled NOTICE OF INTENDED LITIGATION
It goes on to state that if money is not paid extra costs will be added and it will go to the county court, will effect my credit score and could lead to bailffs being sent round.
Should I still ignore this even though this letter is now not coming direct from Excell?
Thanks in advance.

Usual chain only thing that's changed is the letterhead. The chances of anything ever getting near a court has not changed.0

And there was me worrying about the letter my husband received this evening...
Thanks for all the advice - I'm also watching the 'court case in Melton Mowbrey on 4th July' thread to see where that ends up.
I shall keep the letters to line the bottom of my budgies cage!0 -

I wouldn't read to much into that case. Any case taken to court by a PPC is well chosen. The usual case were they send an invoice to the RK and no response is made never gets near a court.
If they took 25% of the ignored invoices to court. The county court system would be swamped. Its easier for them to send their threatograms, then if nothing comes of it move on to the next.
Unfortunately there seems enough people are paying these invoices without question to keep these parasites in business.0 -
I have just checked my voice mail for my landline to find a message from Dan of Greham White solicitors wanting to speak to me. I haven't bothered ringing back, don't want to waste a call on these people. Not sure how they have got my number though. Anyone had any calls from them?0
