drivers with mobiles..name & shame..
I am so so sick of seeing stupid drivers with mobiles in their hands while driving, i feel really strongly about it and it never ceases to amaze me how many idiots still do it...the best are the lorrys who are 10 times more likely to write your whole car off if not kill you if they don't keep alert. This morning I was driving the kids to school with one behind me and he wasn't concentrating in the slightest..i couldn't get the reg and tbh was so worried he was going to go right into the back of us i was glad to pull off and get rid!
I knew the name of the co though and have often said to dh i am going to write to the local paper and ask for a name and shame section where people can email in especially the companys who have been spotted, they can list them each month..would it embarrass them?
I have seen a few in my town who i will actually boycott over using now as think they are selfish and brainless.
So any reasons why this can't be done? i expect there is something i haven't thought of..i heard on the radio this morning about the web site with the criminals on who have been told it is like being in the stocks again and it is not fair to let everyone know who they are??!
Opinions please..

Whenever you see someone on a mobile, blast your horn. They wont be concentrating and will brick themselves.0

they cause unnecesary congestion on roads, they park in crazy places outside schools with no regard for anyone safety other than getting thier kids to school at 2 minutes to 9.
it something i feel really strongly about, a parent with 2 tired kids in the back of the x5 not strapped in shouting and causing the driver to be distracted and not concentrating.
there was one behind me the other day, i though if she doesn't stop looking round to tend to her kids in the back she won't see me braking and will run into the back of me,possibly writing me off.
maybe we should name and shame anyone we see with kids in the back of the car causing a slight distraction to the driver in our local papers....work permit granted!0 -

He who asks is a fool for five minutes, but he who does not ask remains a fool forever.
If you really cant knit very well, then practise drumming with the needles...

We should name and shame all the people who park on public streets outside other people's houses :A0

I think parts of that were used in a DoE ad here in NI. They run a lot of those kinds of ads, but sadly it doesn't seem to have much impact.Northern Ireland club member No 382 :j0 -

this was filmed a couple of miles from where i live, it was played in local comprehensives and youth clubs to make the children aware of the consequenses of allowing someone to drive while txting to get the messages on to mums and dads and educate early would be drivers. i dont own a mobile and when i did i allways pulled over to use it if possible or just let it ring i put a simple answer machine message on my phone "if no answer i'm driving call me back l8r". my daughters go to a local primary school where the road is busy in mornings anyways as its a direct root to local village parking is insufficiant so many people use the road to park and walk their child into the school, road is manned by a lolli pop lady to cross, time and time again i see many people useing a mobile phone whilst appraching the lollipop lady and children crossing the road and just manage to slam anchores on and stop, to wich the lolli pop lady lets the kids cross and then has stern word with the driver out of frustration. many locals use the road and know there is a school there, i have seen mums and dads on mobiles driving into the school car park and i think how stupid and careless and what if a lemming run out know he run him/her over, (i call kids aged 5-16 lemmings during school start and end time as they think that all traffic on the road doesnt exist and their free to walk into the road without looking). i have been infront and behind people useing mobiles whilst driving and have had the unfortunate sight of whitnessing a crash happen on a major a road with national speed limit due to use of chatting on mobile whilst driving utter carnage all i an say and it was avoidable she (sorry females it was a her at fault) suddenly changed lanes to take over going over nat speed limit without checking her mirrors and blind spot and sideswipped a lorry her little citreon c1 was no match for a lorry and she was severly hurt. i think the law should be tougher on the mobile and drive users get caught 12 month ban £1000 fine and liscence restrictions (i e connot apply for a hgv licence and limited to a car not vans e.t.c) and if an accident arose from useing a mobile behind the wheel 2yr ban 2 months in prison and if you run someone over killing them 2 year ban 12months+ prison and a whopping big fine wich 80% of goes to the family who's lost a relative. the more you got to lose the more people will use their mobiles less whilst driving.Tia_Maria06 wrote: »0
