Perhaps I'm in the minority, I dunno. But I'd quite like the ability to submit evidence, minaly photographic or video of people breaking those annoying rules like reading maps, eating, or phoning whilst driving.
Along with those people who alter their numberplates to read like something else because they cannot afford the real deal.
And last but not least those people who feel taking uptwo car park spaces is ok becasue their oversized 4x4 doesn't fit into one space.
It would be nice to submit this to an email address, backed up with location, time, description etc and when the person gets a fine sent to them that you will actually be getting 50% of it in your pocket.
It wont take long before people change their ways.0 -

It also wouldn't be long before some malicious ex, jealous wife/husband/partner/mistress decided it would be a great way to get revenge by falsifying information!

no they really enrage me as well, especially the ones driving in the dark with no lights on. plus i once followed a middle-aged woman (40-50) driving a white audi Q7 at 60mph, for 22 miles down the m62, she was on her phone all the time.
its possible to get signal jammers for cell devices, i don't understand why they are not built into cars, so they kick in as soon as the ignition is started. therefore you cannot use a phone whilst driving. i realise there are small reasons why this isn't currently practical (i.e. passenger on the phone, breaking down on hardshoulder, etc.) but it is an ide.0 -
people do realise its the not the act of holding a phone that is the distraction, i love it when people compare it to smoking whislt driving0

Ditto, when watching these police docs, can any one explain how the police get away with using their radios while driving.ANURADHA KOIRALA ??? go on throw it in google.0 -
Housesitter i agree with your points, there are a lot of selfish stupid people out there but parking a 4x4 etc is annoying yet not dangerous..like lots of other things it just doesn't compare.
I can understand the revenge thing though so can see why it is a no go. I have rung 2 companys over the last year and complained about their staff driving while on the phone, one was a jumped up 14 year old lookalike laughing away at the time taking no notice of what he was doing, right up the back of me either on the phone with one hand or drinking with the other..grrr..i hope they get disciplinary action for it, may make them think about their job..maybe not!0 -

Ah yes bounty hunters thats what this country needs.
I'd contend that if you so preoccupied with other peoples driving that you are video/photographing/writing down reg numbers i.e. generally being a busy body and gathering evidence, then you probably aren't concentrating enough on your own road craft.
Its a bit like the stupid police signs on motorways that say "accident here on such and such a date were you a witness? Call 0873263465131" No i wasn't but the !!!!!! in front of me almost caused another one trying to read this.0 -
I love these shopping ideas....the socialist principle of the lowest common denominator, and the neighbourhood spy, the Stazi lives on in small minded Britain.
There are some who can carry on a conversation as well as drive competently, and there are some who will never be capable of driving as long as they live...but hey we're all the same in the new world.
I don't like to see people with a hand held phone..not because it's necessarily dangerous, but they must be thick if they think that the old bill can't see them and i would nick 'em if i was plod for being a twerp...especially those idiot drivers that hold the phone to their right ear in full view of everyone...haven't got the nous to tuck the phone into their left ear tucked out sight beside the headrest.
Carry on with the good work comrade social spy, you will have extra rations issued to your identity card when you next sign in at the peoples reception centre.0 -

sadly im not conversant enough with it to know it all off by heart, but im sure its in there somewhere about strapping the kids in,not having them jumping all over the back seat, causing a distraction to the driver, i see it all the time.
the point im trying to make is that the op is tarring everyone with the same brush that uses thier mobile while driving, now i know its illegal, but that doesn't mean everyone should be treated like the lowest common denominator, driving on the motorway at 70 with clear road ahead i really don't see the problem with holding your phone, maybe in busy town centres where you might need both hands may be worthy of a fine and some points though, but it should be treated with some common sense, i know 2 guys i work with both been pulled over for using the phone, one was using it and had it at his ear,but he challenged the police and managed to get off with it, the other guy was simply locking the key pad and got 3 points and £60 fine while he was stopped in traffic.
i did use my phone before the law came in to give automatic points, now i have a bluetooth stereo in my van so the need to actually hold the phone is reduced.
sadly most drivers can not use common sense to decide when or where it may be safe to use thier phone while driving so we all get classed as the same low life scum that run over children when using a mobile while driving.
and to the vigilante traffic law enforcers who toot thier horns at folk on thier phones, mind you own !!!!in buisness and keep an eye on the road stopping watching the person on the mobile.
if you tooted me you would be swiftly told in no uncertain terms where to go....work permit granted!0 -
Upon doing a search there appears to be a few websites jumped on this band wagon.
But the website I was referring to is here:
http://www.betterdrivingplease.com/
But it appears to have been shut down.
its changed to https://www.busybodystickingthiernosein.com...work permit granted!0
