Well. As I think I've mentioned, it's your call.
    My TV is broken!
Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j

Hey hey hey, less of the 'He' I'm all woman.

Personally I would go straight to a paypal claim. There are too many sellers who will try and work the system and don't understand that *they* need to sort out refunds etc for the buyer, not the carrier. If, as others have already said, this seller has a good turnover then there is likely to be money in his paypal account and even if there isn't enough his paypal account will be frozen so he will have an added incentive to sort you out and refund you to make you go away.

You only have 45 days to make a claim and if DHL are anything like the Royal Mail that time limit will run out long before your seller sees a refund. If your seller manages to get you to the 45 day limit without you putting in a paypal claim there will be nothing at all you can do, you will have lost your money on a broken item.

It took me 7 months to receive my compensation for a broken pc that was sent through parcel2go. I kept in touch with my buyer all the way through and in the end i finally received a cheque. I had to badger on everyday to parcel2go in some cases i sent over 50 emails in 1 go and not 1 was replied too! I would not expect this to be dealt with this year knowing parcel2go so i'de say paypal is your best bet here just keep your fingers crossed he as money in his paypal account or you wont get paid a penny. i hope it works out ok for you

    Phew!!!

Not that it is actually relevant to anything going on here, of course.
  • I work for a parcel carrier and we do not carry tft's. It does state this in the T & C's. It may however be covered if your sender has taken out addiditonal insurance.
We have over 250,000 parcels each night travelling through our hub so the odds of something this delicate, unless packaged correctly, being damaged are high. You would not be able to claim anything back from the carrier you will have to ask the person who sold it you as he/she is DHL's customer.

Oh no, I'm really sorry Soolin. It was that picture of Avon out of Blakes 7 that made me think otherwise.

    Tee hee...

I was going to use the nick Meegat for a while, but that is a bit too obscure for most people I think!

As for staying on topic (before I slap my own wrists) I think the OP has done the right thing by escalating this to a full paypal claim. I don't like to see sellers hiding behind all sorts of made up conditions as it reflects badly on the rest of us sellers.
