...1064 tesco points is worth £10.64 in Tesco money off vouchers. But these vouchers can often be converted at 4 times their face value for other deal tokens, such as at MFI or various days out tickets at many attractions, even holidays or air miles - pick up a brochure in any Tesco Store

Crumbs, that is a corker of a deal. Although I'm absolutely pennyless (payday in t-5 days) I'm gonna have to chuck this on my (tesco) creditcard.

Don't forget the 2% cashback at Topcashback and Quidco. As Mr T often says, every little helps....

If you look on Samsung's website it says no DIVX support. Doesn't bother me too much though.

Don't forget to go via Quidco though - for an extra 3% off.

£62.91 after Quidco cashback + another £40 in Tesco deal vouchers = a good brand DVD Recorder for £22.91

    Thanks OP

Ive just come on the site to start a thread about this dvd player and found it already on here.

Does anyone know if its any good, has anyone had any problems with it? Also does it have an inbuilt tuner so you can watch something different to what you are actually recording?

Will i be able to use this easily with my digital camcorder to record my tapes (Sony Digital 8 Handycam DCR-TRV245E) onto blank dvds? The connections on it that i have are USB, DV OUT, A/V OUT and S VIDEO OUT.

I have been thinking of getting a dvd recorder for a while now and been looking about for deals etc but when i got the email about this i thought it was very tempting and now ive seen the extra 1000 clubcard points it seems too good an offer to miss. I think i will be ordering this later but just wanted the above questions answered first.

This looks like the DVD format is just DVD minus R and minus RW, not the DVD plus R and plus RW format if that makes a difference for you.

The advantage of DVD plus RW as far as I remember is that you don't need to finalise the disk - its literally just play and go.
