Hi everyone - I'm new to this thread!
This thread found me at a good time - my flat is in dire need of cleaning, and I wasn't sure where on earth to start, but now I'm full of ideas. It has been very neglected of late - shift working isn't the best motivator for cleaning (that's all about to change as I will be working only days for the forseeable future) so I need to sort it out and get my cleaning cap on.
    Where do I sign up?

welcome to the [STRIKE]madhoue[/STRIKE]thread ashbash - you have come to the right place to get order restored but you need to stick with us as much as you can - it wont happen overnight!!!! will send to a pm shortly

lala your GP and DH are right honey - you must not rush back - money isnt everything - your health is far more important - so maybe you wil have to tighten your belts a bit more but you need to be 100% before you go back to work
thifty hope the cold goes soon - good luck with the packing and I am keeping everything crossed you get moved before Christmas .
Mudbath of course i read the posts properly:cool: I hope Ds is ok today and despite stripes being naughty today its nice to hear after thinking she might have been lame again - she is making up for being in pain yesterday by being a pain today!!! Hope your tum is better later. (((hugs)))
embb nice to see you a bit cheerier honey - good luck with the councillor and fingers crossed your plans for later work out ok - just be determined to make it work whatever happens:D ETA thats hard to bear about the insulating - did you look at the websites i suggested as it might be an alternative?
soappie - hope the hospital visit went as well as it can ETA - ok so no break - well you just have to be gentle with the walking on it and build it up again
cyclingyorkie (((hugs))) hope the day is not as bad as you expect. Go sleep while he is out - get him some headphones for his radio or earphones and buy earplugs for yourself - you neeeeeeeeeed sleep to function. can you get help with your daughter or are you the main carer?
JillD hope the throat doesnt get too sore today - thats a busy day you have - hope it all goes well

plan to potter and knock a few things off the list but wont manage it all I know
WM is on with first load and have a towells load to do - hoping I can get them out for a little while.

will go bump my list to see whats needing doing that i have forgotten about

    hugs to all the poorlies

    have a good day/ weekend !
    toots xx

ETA hugs Valli - isnt nature wonderful:rolleyes: hope you feel better later - take extra good care of yourself today xx

soappie pleased it went ok, regular sprains a lot do recommend no strapping.DP has a severe overstretched ligament so his is a little different. Grade 1 sprains they usually recommend no strapping after, even up to grade 2-3 (3 is snapped & his 'should' have or has & repired stretched) like my DPs he isn't to immobolise all of the time as it can cause more harm than good. His brace just stops the side to side overflexing his ankle can do because of the damaged ligament (no compression etc)
toots kitchen not quite perfect, still the pantry to finish reorganising but I smile when I walk in now instead of closing my eyes
Mudders, my dogs been so naughty over the last week too
Diva have you tried getting alternative opinions on the car, seems very odd for them to advocate one type
embb I don't think there is any insulation in these houses. No loft or wall to put it in with them being prefabs. Enjoy your evening x
cyclingyorkie ((hugs)) never easy, makes us all a bit short in the temper department. Could you share a room with one of the children? Your DS should be getting himself up, taking some responsibility for themselves so you have less. Agreed with the radio or make him use headphones. Have you asked about respite for your DD or direct payments?

Monitoring gas is going to cause arguements here, DP must have put heating on 20 when he got in about 2.30am & left it at that, he thinks 20-25 is normal! In the last 24 hours we used 50kwh of gas. I don't know how much we used at the last house when it was cold as I never monitored it, I don't know what we should be using but I do know thats over £2.50 in a day & we used to put about £7-10 a week on 5 years ago. DH had a shower, I do want to know how much that uses with it running straight off the combi. I can see myself getting obsessed :o

DS1s school fayre this afternoon, always chaos but they love going. Going to do some more finances work, grab a shower (will monitor mine as I can cope without heating on) then go.

Best go Ds1s running in circles screeching as he can't find clothes .... they are all over his bedroom floor from when he threw them....monster
One day I might be more organised...........

Toots not had a detailed look but I will now I've finally got some answers, just worried you need council permission to do it, they wont give me it.

Lil_me there's talk about putting a brick skin round the outside of mine (prefab too) but nothing set in stone yet. Re: the gas, I put £30 a week in mine.... thermostat is set on 25 (save the 30 for when it's bitterly cold) and it's still freezing lol I'm out most of the time too and it never goes on during the night.

    How'd you get on macpep?

I hoovered right through downstairs inc giving the floor and skirts a good going over where the pc used to be, loaded the DW, loaded the WM, cleaned the kitchen, cleaned the pc desk and sorted out the gibble that was on it, binned most of it.... FLING! :j

  • Soappie - glad to hear your ankle is not broken, nice and steady now to keep the muscles working.

Just back from getting the new tyre fitted and new indicator bulb bought ready for restest.

Have written down my list to complete today - will be v.busy!

Unfortunately the combination of white wine and day nurse was heavy last night and I sent a nasty text to ex which I regret bigstyle now. Think I'd better take his number out of my phone to stop me doing this again on impulse. Whoops.
