Perfect ingredients for chunky vegetable soup, spiced for preference, followed by cheese omelettes. If I'm over the hill, where was the top?0

Hmmm...definately think I'll go with the stir-fry for tonight. Whicj really only leaves the parsnips, potatoes and tomatoes. Am intrigued by the idea of roasting and then freezing the potatoes and parsnips, which I've never done before but worth trying, and maybe a batch of tomato sauce for the freezer too.
Thank you0 -
Can't help with your rice pudding question Picklepud as I have never made it.:o
Had a good clear out of the fridge yesterday as due to last week's illness some of the fresh stuff had gone past its best and had to be chucked. It was already a bit old and after a bad stomach last week I couldn't face eating it.:o
Using up a qu0rn pastie, pork sausages, rest of the white pots and a tin of carrots and a tin of mushy peas tonight. Cheese, bread, eggs and the other half of the tin of beans I opened yesterday getting used for today's lunches. Will also manage to eat some of the biccies the builders left;)
Might buy some yogurt at the weekend to make DH some savoury scones that I have seen in the Mr S mag to supplement his lunch box. They need a tiny bit of cream as well but I will use full fat milk and I have a voucher for a free pint out of the back of the same mag. I can't stand the stuff to drink so will freeze it in portions if the scones are OK.Save £10,500 - £2673.77 - 25.5%

Boil and mash your spuds and make a batch of potato bread. It freezes beautifully. Just separate the pieces before you freeze them.Father Ted: Now concentrate this time, Dougal. These
(he points to some plastic cows on the table) are very small; those (pointing at some cows out of the window) are far away...:D:D

OMG I've jsut made it and its fabulous!! Also cut up the soda and shallow fried in veg oil for croutons and a big dollop of creme fraiche to finish off!!
Woohoo I'm a cook! :rotfl::cool:
I just diced all the veg, added a veg and pork stock cube, a splash of soy sauce, worcester sauce and garlic and about 1-2l of water and just let it stew for about 2 hours. Then I pureed it all in the Kenwood liquidiser and put it in my tureen.
I wish you could all try it, and it's a fairly cheap meal too!!2024 Challenges- Grocery Budget (January £0/£300)

On the beauty products are any 'matching'? ie toner / cleanser / moisturiser.
These could be put in a pretty box with some tissue paper and made into xmas presents.
My mum and friend both emmigrated 2 years ago, both are 'bargin' hunters (as in buy it coz its on offer and then never use it!! ) I ended up with all the stuff they didn't pack and take with them. It took me 18mnts to use up all. :eek:0 -
Just 3 parsnips
2 carrots
2 peppers
1 leek
bunch of spring onions
couple of onions
bag of tomatoes
some new potatoes
pack of shiitake mushrooms.
Roast everything except the spring onions and the mushrooms, just add them at the end or give a quick fry.
This gives you two meals at least for one lot of work,
eat as many as you want of the roast veggies with the mushrooms tonight.
then whizz the whole lot up and make am lovely roast veggie soup which can freeze. If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -
hi all, any ideas what i can do with a bottle of balsamic dipping oil please
Thanks LLL0
