Lol he doesn't cook much. We had a partially frozen chicken kiev one dark and stormy night a few years ago, that's kinda put me off his offer to cook
I have got some old bread in the bread bin, do I just crumble it up to make breadcrumbs?I have had many Light Bulb Moments. The trouble is someone keeps turning the bulb off

I'm going to try to not buy any food for 6 days (Tuesday-Sunday inclusive), starting tomorrow. Fortunately I have a lot of stuff in the freezer and in the pantry, meals I have made in bulk etc, so it isn't impossible to do. Earlier this month I achieved 6 no spend days in a row so i will try not to spend on anything during this seven day period, but especially with regard to food.Grocery Challenge for October: £135/£200

Good luck katholicos!
I have had toast this morning, the hm bread is nearly gone  I have got enough strong flour to make one more loaf. Then it is back to the white finger rolls in the freezer.
Thanks skaps, I don't have a food processor, will smash it up by hand. Or i have a blender, I could use that. I am a bit fed up of washing it out though
I have just found in the freezer, some carrots, parsnips, some stringy stuff I think is cabbage..I really should label the bags properly...and some courgette that I grew myself last year. I have a large potato - the last one, and one onion. I have got some plain flour, and some lamb in the fridge so a lamb and veg pie it is. I am popping out to the shops in a bit, but if I do spend any money, it won't be on food!I have had many Light Bulb Moments. The trouble is someone keeps turning the bulb off

Well just back from the vets £38 worse off and need to go back on Friday for lucy to have a tooth out so not even thinking about that until friday.
Salmon fishcakes may be on hold until tomorrow unless the chickens lay another two eggs today!! But I will make them today anyway because I'm in work all day tomorrow. If so we will be having beef curry from freezer tonight. We were going to have it with rice but I've found some noodles that could do with using up so we may have them I think I will get away with the strangest meals this week so I'll go the whole hog and use up all the odd bits and pieces!!
I'm having pate on toast with pea & ham soup for lunch!!
I've got a cheque to pay into our holiday account tomorrow so will have to take that bank card to work with me I just hope I'm not tempted to withdraw any money to go shopping whilst I'm out!!0 -
Stay strong diluv! I have actually decided goint into town is a B A D idea. i need to go to the post office to post a book I sold on Amazon. I am going to do it in my lunchbreak at work instead tomorrow. Less temptation!
I have a diet book and that mentions cheats spaghetti - use cut up cabbage instead! I have done it, DS wasn't too impressed but I thought it was okay. See I would never eat a vegetable like cabbage unless it was well hidden under something else! xI have had many Light Bulb Moments. The trouble is someone keeps turning the bulb off

I used to use cabbage instead of spagetti when i was low carbing. i enjoyed it.
i had to go to tesco today to see if they had washing powder on offer as per the grabbit board but they didnt. i did buy socks (newborn ones in sale for ickle sock monkeys), pull ups (for the santa I am making - dont ask!!!!), and 38p on tom sauce but I used my vouchers so only spent 30p and i am sure that was on the socks
so am counting it as a success for today. got one more school run and not taking purse out for that so wont be spending more today.
Day 3 - success!!! :T whoo hoo!!!!0 -
I've made the salmon fishcakes and the chickens did as hoped and laid three eggs!!
I've just made some lemon biscuits and about to get them out of the oven.
Day two with no spend (apart from vets)
I've put my bank card with the cheque in an envelope in my bag for tomorrow so no purse again.0 -
Lemon biscuits sound yum!
I have just had to scrape the sides of the marg container to get enough butter for the pastry top of the pie I am making - made it, but only just!
Tomorrow we are having omelette with ham and cheese. There are only four eggs, and two bits of ham, and two slices of cheese, but I am sure it will be fine.....I will have to look in the freezer and cupboards to see if there is anything else I can pad it out with! xI have had many Light Bulb Moments.
