I did exactly the same thing last Friday, so it's nice to know I'm not the only one falling off the wagon! That's the last time for a while for me, though - I'm back to being unable to open the freezer door without something falling out, so I must have freezer-based meals for the next couple of weeks.
Anyway, last night I used up the end of a chunk of chorizo, the last of my pasta (not entirely intentionally - I'd forgotten I only had a little bit left), half a rather sorry-for-itself looking aubergine, and my last but one tin of tomatoes . (I must go shopping this week - I'm getting a bit low on a few essential bits now!) That made enough for my dinner last night and for lunch tomorrow, which isn't bad, I suppose.
Tonight's dinner will be a ready-made beef pie from the freezer, and I'm going to throw together some sort of vegetable combination to go with it - I have a slightly squishy chunk of butternut squash, a yellowing cabbage and a rather wrinkled potato that all need using. Mmm. Sounds delicious, doesn't it? :rolleyes:Back after a very long break!0 -
Goa, candygirl - how lovely
it will be great to get away from this cold weather.
We are away to Crete three weeks tomorrow until 9th January and the weather there is 21 degrees at the moment - can't wait
Chilli chicken out of fridge for me tonight with some rice - OH wants bacon, egg & chips, so that's easy. The chicken carcass in the slow cooker yesterday yielded loads of stock so all but one portion in the freezer - it's filling up again
Did make fifteens last night from recipe thread, very sweet and gorgeous (tried one this morning just to test!!). Can I freeze some does anyone know??
OH bought some plums at the weekend but he says they are quite sour so will make them into crumble tonight.
Managed a NSD today0 -
I'd like to know if you can freeze Fifteens too. If I make them to try it, I'll just eat them before they see the freezer...0
