I redded out my kitchen cupboards months ago, and i showed my friend - when i opened the cupboards, she was really disturbed to see my tins all lined up with the label forward and all in categories. She made the psycho eek eeek noise:rotfl:. Now any time i open my cupboards, i hear it too.......

:rotfl:I'm so glad to see there's a few of us lunatics on here!

(Next time I open my cupboard I'll hear that too!)

I've just decluttered a box of HM pasta sauce for lunch, very tasty it was too. I am running seriously short on supplies but I'm taking my mother to Costco this weekend, so it's stock up time.

This is what I've got at the mo'

FREEZER: (number of portions in brackets)

    Ham for sandwiches (2)
    Smoked haddock (2)
Pork and red onion sausages (2)
    Minced beef (1)
    IKEA style meat balls (2)

    HM Chilli (2)

    Mixed frozen veg (10)

    Bread (1/2 loaf)
    Muffins (4)
    Milk (2 pints)

    FRIDGE

    Potatoes
    Onions
    Carrots

    Apples
    Satsumas

    Grapefruit marmelade
Mincemeat (left over from last Xmas - keeps for AGES!!)
    Pickled shallots
    Curry paste
Sandwich spread (yeah, ok, I know....I just fancied some!)
    Butter
    Milk

Plus the usual store cupboard dry stuff and tins.

Cor, that really isn't a lot. Pay day tomorrow :D

He he Sorry about that! I hadn't realised it was A**lly retentive until she pointed it out. Not that my house is spotless - far from it, clutter a plenty! But the kitchen is very specific and generally always spotless . I even noticed i seem to fold my flour bags and put the clothes peg on the same way - but they have to all be facing the same way in my baking cupboard as one shelf is all flour (oh yes, that's organised too). So they all line up side by side with the pegs pointing the same way. yes, it's more mental now I've said it out loud....

Mine are categorised - tinned toms, then baked beans, then haricot & butter beans/mixed bean salad. My tinned fruit is in my baking cupboard as I imagine that's the only time I will ever use it. Beside the tins are all my pulses lined up then pasta then rice. Nuts. Well nuts are on a different shelf at the top, but yes , it is nuts. OCD much?
A little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men

  • I;ve just decluttered a packet of 'make your own chocolate toffee apples' bought in 2007 I think *hangs head in shame* It didn't coat the apples but we rolled the melted choc and 100s and 1000s into halloween balls :)
The kids are away tomorrow for a holiday weekend away with Nanny and Pops so they've declared today halloween, decorated the lounge and requested something halloweeny for tea!!!!

Luckily I have witches fingers in blood in the freezer :):):) (that'll get rid of the sausage casserole!!!)

    :hello: Hello!

Well it's thursday night and I have just 25p left from £15 budget! we had the fortnightly organic box this week and have had to buy milk and bread. Other than that living from the storecupboard/freezer!
Tonight we had remoska baked sausages, red cabbage and apples, 1/2 a jacket potato each.

This week we have used up:-

    tin of mushy peas
    tin of veg soup
    tin of spam
    tin of spaghetti hoops
    tin of mango slices
    1 red cabbage
    bag of red apples
    1lb onions
    bag of oats
    dried fruits
    pack of giggly pig faggots
    giggly pig sausages

Roll on Sunday and another £15 to play with!:j
Our days are happier when we give people a bit of our heart rather than a piece of our mind.

I just came across giggly pig at a farmers market recently. Lovely stuff.
  • Morning all!

I've been wondering, how often do you guys shop and how long do you meal plan for at a time?

I only do one big shop a month so find it difficult to plan for that long :?:

    Morning peeps!

Well, I've defrosted my 'freezer surprise' tub and it is soup - parsnip not lentil, but I was close! :p That's lunch sorted, at least.

Dinner uses up (well, starts using up) a pack of bacon from the freezer and one of my many tins of baked beans. I now have a deadline for emptying my freezer - I have placed a large meat order which is being delivered in the 3rd week of November, so I've got to clear enough space by then to store 4 large packs of sausages, 8 packs of mince, 2 pork hock joints and a small pork belly joint. Looks like I'll be eating a lot of frozen stuff to make room for that lot! :D

GreenandThrifty - I go shopping every week, although it's generally a fairly small shop (milk and cat food, and anything from my stores that has run out). I generally do a meal plan for one or two weeks at a time - I find it difficult to do any longer than that as I get my fruit and veg delivered and they can only tell you what's coming one week in advance. (For a while I did try doing a month at a time but found I kept having to change everything to use the veggies I'd received, so I gave up on that system.)
