I'm not sure if this is what you're after, but you can make flapjacks with muesli, rather than using plain oats - melt some butter and sugar/syrup together (sorry, can't tell you how much, I'm useless on quantities!:o), mix in the muesli, pour into a lined baking tray and bake in the oven until cooked (err.. I'm not good on times either, I'm afraid!:o:o). The only thing you need to be wary of is if the muesli has sultanas in it, as you may need to put a bit of foil over the top to stop them getting too 'caramelised' (my sister's phrase - i.e. burnt!).

Your cooking sounds just like mine.:D
I love the sound of this though Thanks!!
I will rember to cook till it looks ,,,,em done :)

Nuala - I hope you feel better soon. I always think soup's the best thing when you're feeling ill, isn't it? Strangely enough I'm making carrot soup this weekend as I've got tons of the things (alright, a slight exaggeration, but lots, anyway), so I might try your spicy version.

Thank you so much CCP :A, was feeling a bit miserable but better now that I'm tucked up cosily listening to the rain lashing on the window.

However, tomorrow I will be making a big batch of chilli, using some of my (many) tins of tomatoes, red kidney beans .............
I have some tortillas in the freezer too, so might cobble together some burrito style thingies with the rest of the chilli.

Ditto here too, only a veggie version :D

Only trouble is, I will use up whats in the fridge to make the chilli...
Then there will be too much left over, which will end up in the freezer, adding to the "storecupboard" as it were

Ah well... at least it give me a better choice of HM ready meals ;)

Tori.k, have you used your Guinea fowl yet?

Hi Taplady, hash browns and waffles make such tasty (if naughty!) toppings. I have been guilty in the past of adding a packet of crushed up crisps to the top of a pie or bake. Oh, and sprinkling cheese on....!

Nope Lizzie i havent i keep looking at it then closing the freezer door  so any ideas would be great

CCP how's the stock taking going? ;)

Piglet6 my freezer suprise not as good as your's what i thought was soup turned out to be 2 bags of the homemade curry sauce i forgot about that i must of blitzed down for the kids, the idea of fruit and veg in the same dish is much for my kids :D

tea going to be pancake's stuffed with mixed veg in a cheese sauce and apple crumble for the boy's pudding.

Im making dents in the freezer already but will have to post a list of the dry stuff to pick everyones brains, its like entering the twilight zone going thru my kitchen cupboards...best wishes to everyone

It will be going this weekend, I think - I don't really have time in the evenings after getting home from work (oh, OK, and I really can't face it then anyway!).

I've been super-organised and put together my meal plan for the next two weeks (usually I only do a week at a time) which is mostly based on stuff in my freezer and cupboards, so I'll already have plans for what to do with some of what's on my inventory. That will only leave the stuff I've forgotten about, which could be where things get interesting!:p
Back after a very long break!

    I've been Money Tipped!
    :hello:Morning!

Oh no! I did it again! Blew a fair bit of the budget by visiting Mr M's just before closing. I needed butter, cheese and organic milk and some bits and pieces for Christmas and found a large pot single cream for 9p so baking today! Also Marco P White soup at 9p (in freezer) 7 organic apples for 19p, a red cabbage for 19p (will make red cabbage and apples to have with some sausages (which I hope are in the freezers somewhere!) chicken drumsticks down to £1.49 (were the expensive free range ones) lettuce for 9p - can I make soup with that? Also some pies for dh (aka Mr Pieman :D)

Anyway total bill came to £11.56 so have £3.44 left until end of week. Free range eggs fom neighbour only £1 so should manage and have lots in fridge and freezer.

Breakfast was porridge (got to make a dent in the oats mountain :rotfl:) maybe bake some flapjacks in the remoska later

Lunch - more of the veg soup and hm bread - dh has some soup in his pack up with reduced price ciabatta, reduced price sausage roll and reduced price org apple!

Dinner - hm pizza - using up more bread flour, froz tomatoes, onion, olive oil, herbs, tin tuna and some olives from the fridge.

Still have to do a stocktake list and then rough out a menu plan! Not going anywhere today then!:D

Nuala - Hope you are feeling better (((hugs)))

CCP -Thank you! No longer feel I'm missing out! lol
Our days are happier when we give people a bit of our heart rather than a piece of our mind.

Thank you! Feeling a good bit better today! :j

You got great bargains - I don't think I've ever seen such cheap stuff over here! And I admit to feeling egg-envy.:D I buy free range or organic from the supermarket but they're never as nice as "proper" farm eggs.

Today dinner isn't from my stores - am going out for pizza as my friend as a voucher - yum! Have just had a big bowl of homemade soup to keep me going till then.

    Have a good day everyone!

Is there anything I can do with a jar of roasted red peppers?
I just found them hiding behind some jars of olives, I honestly do not remember getting these or why!
A NON BEAN meal would be good!
Hate to be fussy but, it HAS to be vegan. We are all severly allergic to anything meat or there by- products... (How I dream of a bacon sarny, its OK for the boys they have been like this since they were born, I became allergic when I was pregnant with them0
But if anyone is thinking of losing a few pounds vegan meals just once or twice a week will help you, so long as you do not load your plate with chips you will see a difference
in a very short time even if you do nothing else.
In saying that both my boys (15 year old twins) are well built and heavty, they both do weights and wrestle for fun, they both also have a passion for peanut butter/jam sandwiches, and a carton of innocent stands NO chance of surviving more than 30 mins in this house.
Sorry I am rambeling best go and see to the laundry.

    Hi SanFran,

Must be hard "having" to be vegan (as opposed to by choice) but no doubt you are healthier for it and you can bask in the glow of feeling morally superior!

Sorry, I've no suggestions for what to do with the peppers but no doubt someone else will.
